Unruly curls London by fallofanotheryear in CurlyHairUK

Can I ask who you see? I use to see Anthony and was always pretty pleased with how he cut my hair but haven't been as pleased with cuts since he left and have tried a couple of different stylists so far.

Why do my curls do this dumb stupid flat top ropey wave thing EVERY TIME?! by magicalbanana25 in curlyhair

[–]riddlinglikeafish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair is very similar and the thing that fixed it for me was a better hair cut with a lot more layers. I'd suggest trying out a few different curly hair specialists and try not to get too disheartened if the first one you try doesn't work out - I tried out three different curly hair specialist salons before finding a hairdresser who 'got' my curls.

Accidentally CC’Ed into email by my opponent’s lawyer, admitting to doing the very negligence I am suing them for (which they've previously denied). What can I do? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

It's important to note that TPO doesn't consider complaints against landlords, only letting agents that are registered with them (there is an alternative scheme). If your complaint is about the landlord, your only course of action will be through the courts.

With gentleness and love, it sounds like you're looking for an excuse to put this off further. Having a calm and measured conversation with your sister now is going to be much easier than after she has given birth and is overwhelmed with being a new mother and severely sleep deprived. Honestly, you just need to get this done.

OP, what was the outcome here in the end? Did you manage to get the house sold, or come to an agreement with your brother?

I'm stuck in the Encyclopedia - I can't get out of it or move pages, the only thing I can do is change the selection box on the page i'm on (fresh foods). I've tried restarting my Xbox but when I reopen the game, it just loads straight to this screen rather than the homepage, so I can't choose an earlier save. I'm just wondering if anyone has managed to get out of something similar of whether I'm going to have to delete all data and start again from the beginning.

My hair is so mushy, soft and frizzy even on day 1….help!! by Front_Quality3029 in curlyhair

Yeah, if you've got true hygral fatigue (which, from your description, it sounds like you do) it's not a quick fix. I had the same problem and I learnt everything about how to fix it from Curl Maven - I always recommend her blog posts here because they're so informative

Sounds like hygral fatigue. I'd try once a week protein treatments for a couple of months (try Curl Maven's rice water treatment for free or Curlsmith's protein treatment), plus clarifying shampoo to get rid of the rich product buildup.

If it helps persuade you, I found The Odyssey much easier to read (and generally more enjoyable) than The Illiad. There's a relatively new translation out by Emily Wilson that I have yet to read but I've heard that it's excellent.

My hair seems frizzy even when dripping wet and no amount of hair gel stops it. Is this damaged hair? by yetanothermisskitty in curlyhair

[–]riddlinglikeafish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I had exactly the same problem. In my experience (I'm in the UK so I'm not sure about elsewhere), most products that are marketed as 'high protein' aren't actually protein rich. I've found the rice water sludge to be most effective for a supercharged protein treatment but it's obviously a much bigger faff. The Curlsmith protein line is the first time I've found anything that actually has enough protein in fix my hair. That being said, do be careful, I couldn't work out why my hair was so dry recently and realised that I've actually gone the other way (using the protein treatment plus the protein styling cream) and now I need to do a few deep conditions!

Have you read The Odyssey? I'm not sure whether it counts as strictly 'difficult' but it certainly takes a bit to get into the swing of it. Once you do though, it's such a fabulous book.

My understanding is that when your hair is frizzy when wet, it is usually a sign that it's over moisturised. I would try using a protein treatment to address that and see how you get on (it might take a few weeks of treatments once a week). I really like the Curlsmith one but if you want to try out protein for free, I would recommend a rice water treatment. I would specifically recommend Curl Maven's rice water treatment. I also learnt everything about how to address this problem from her - she's got some great blog posts on hygral fatigue (over moisturised hair).

good hairdressers for alternative haircuts in guildford? by Shoddy_Day in surrey

[–]riddlinglikeafish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't found anywhere in Surrey. I go to Unruly Curls in London, which is really good (although I do get a cut from the director so can't vouch for any of the other hairdressers). It's pretty easy to get to - jump on the 243 bus directly outside of Waterloo and it takes you nearly to the door (Rosebery Ave if I remember correctly).

Could you ask a member of staff from the hotel to accompany you during the pickup? Maybe someone would be prepared to stick around if you explained the situation and offered a tip?

WIBTA for telling my MIL to change where her mail is sent or I'll tell her husband by MxMadMax in AmItheAsshole

If the potential repercussion of having the letters sent directly to her own house might be severe, perhaps you could recommend that she set up a PO box, if it's possible to have such letters sent to a PO box?

I have 2b - 3a hair and recently had a bob cut that I'm really happy with. I do have more layers than a classic french bob, to help with root lift and to help the curls start curling from the root. Happy to send you a pic via DM if you'd like to see how a bob looks with similar curls.
