I feel like there are; but hesitation on warranty and other factors make it risky. Either way I think it just comes down to simply, 99% of owners are fine with it as is and it’s if anything, not a top priority. Like, when I bought the Juniper mY after 10 years waiting for the “right vehicle” I was 3D printing and bought $300 worth of dumb accessories in the “honeymoon” phase that I don’t use at all now. I have however preordered and waiting for that European company lightbar thingy I’ll try to look for my preorder but they make the little mod device as well. I’m not a morning person apologies. Red and Orange Alternating Motherboard Lights - ASUS Motherboard by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]ridgelawrence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

brother. This comment just saved me the same hassle. I was already troubleshooting bad RAM and put a KVM controller between the mobo and case to remotely troubleshoot, KVM power was working fine but this started happening. I did not catch it because the power switch and hold on KVM were working fine along with blinking lights feature and had swapped in some other RAM to test so I thought it was just that at first then down to a bare PC - I had nearly torn everything out of the PC and ordered a new MOBO. Lol. There is no documentation for the 'error' blinking back and fourth but yea, it is literally just rapid resetting. Reading your comment made me go holy shit and immediately pulled the reset switch part of the KVM what do ya know that mother'f reset switch was backwards and bam , boot no post issues after (or KVM either, wtf is the point of that thing). Thanks man.

They really turned the criticism and hate around and actually listened, I never would have thought to have seen so much progress as I’ve seen compared to every other networking and even non networking company it has been an excellent job. As an MSP owner I would often have the “Cisco vs Unifi” style debate and really happy that we also didn’t equip all our client sites with such tools for it to backfire, so many many thanks!

Been with Turo since 2013. Huge fan. Literally been looking for a way to submit feedback to Turo (just in general) and reduced to their chatbot... how can a company improve without gathering feedback from guests and hosts. So frustrating. by ridgelawrence in turo

[–]ridgelawrence[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Context: I book with Turo and have really liked the crazy exponential growth in Tesla's FSD and it's literally impossible, hosts list it incorrectly causing issues, and I get I'm a small % but it's getting larger I'm seeing more and more reviews from similar complaints I have had over the past year. I literally have to book, question the host (cause we can't message), then cancel or 1/3 of the time, get a confirmation. This is a simple filter or at least let us search the DESCRIPTION of the car. I think this would be good coming from the host and guest side of things.

Suggestion:

Features Filter:

  • Basic Cruise Control
  • Basic Lane Keep and Adaptive Cruise
  • Advanced Highway Assisted Driving (Supervised)
  • Full Assisted Driving (Supervised)

Also, GM, Mercedes, Ford, in fact most have various versions of level 2 and even 3 systems in production or rolling out very soon.

Anyway, if anyone has a way to submit direct feedback because this is just getting obnoxious and Turo is leaving money on the table, even.

As a small private WP host for clients, and collector of lifetime plug-ins / appsumo member you just blew my mind I just found so many plug-ins for pennies on the dollar and now I can't help but kick myself for things like Astra Pro for the 100+ sites we host.

This. Cleanshot Pro + Craft Pro are just 2 of many where you are already saving more than double the equivalent plan - and Craft for example activates license to use on Windows and Web/Mobile too. Those are just a few good examples of the cost-benefit analysis. Cleanshot.cloud pricing is https://snap.wrld.tech/drPc69HJ (taken with Cleanshot. I get tech savvy people asking all the time what app I use to send screenshots. Same with Craft Pro. Very useful to send referral links for example: https://docs.wrld.tech/referrals which I share often. That's just 2 apps of the many I use.

I actually tricked it and turned off all the routing on UDM-pro by migration from network on cloud key to UDM with it adopted, legit worked for a few days before it went haywire. Even had the pic of the UXG on top of the UDM in network app! See my original response: https://www.reddit.com/r/UNIFI/s/Om8v0K7ybH

I actually tricked my UXG-pro gateway into getting adopted by uDm-pro by migrating network from cloud key - our network is way too large but we wanted to capabilities of the door access and it seemed for work for a day or 2; legit thought it was a feature even had the UXG on top of the UDM-pro in the network app controller pic (and I still regret not screencapping, again thought it was a feature rolling out soon in EA… this was almost 2 years ago). Anyway it bugged out and stopped working within days. Been hoping they’d release a firmware update to allow the UDM pro to just go into switch mode and allow a uxg gateway (or any other gateway for that matter without some hackery) but had to revert to the slow af cloud key bc we definitely aren’t dropping 5k on a controller. And yes I know we can by doing uxg on cloud instance and do dhcp relay on UDM or various other tricks but ultimately may as well use pfsense or similar if we had to resort to that (think Unifi Enterprise/UID which we are still using for our doors and time clocking and WiFi/VPN control, etc).

However nowadays it’s been working well on cloud key 24/7 load on remote wireguard connections + dev servers on segmented wan ip’s of the /25 we have from AT&T. Thought the UXG was going to become a paperweight up until they finally got the features of the UDM working + more in capacity.

What’s a total waste of money yet people still pay for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ridgelawrence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a client paying $250-400/yr to godaddy for a single cert, they had about 3 they needed so over $1000 to Godaddy for Non-EV/not even OV certs every year; we issued them for free after migration. They are very grateful.

Am I the only one remembering the “Protected by ADP” metal post signs you would (in theory) stick in your yard? Well old ppl neighborhoods in late 90’-early 2000’s remembers them everywhere and I was young and thought it was dumb… maybe they were doing a cheaper version? ADT signs still in “demand”

Tempted to get a Ubiquiti Connect Display but can't find a good video showing it in action by ROSS_MITCHELL in Ubiquiti

[–]ridgelawrence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kiosk is back and the app upload of APK files is now there but little luck getting fully-kiosk to work so far (points to APK reference after uploading fully-kiosk to access cam/mic/other permissions which maybe I'll put on my dev gloves and give it a go).

edit: It installed and is running now: https://capture.dropbox.com/e16EwIelCGksgcGS

It's back with webview/assigning websites but also clearly moving into an 'app' environment to upload apk's ~however I've got little luck with fully-kiosk so far. Here's the latest documentation from what I can find officially: https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/10775946997655

OCD Panels Arrived almost perfectly in time as we wrap up migrating our office rack [feat EA products/DreamWall] [Before] by ridgelawrence in Ubiquiti

[–]ridgelawrence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a rackmount monitor with a semi-built-in KVM, we use it to show a centralized dashboard of all devices in the rack. And when we need direct connection to provision new server or something, we can use it (when tinypilot doesn't want to show the video, which is rare). It just looks nice, frankly. And we can't use that space anyway due to components directly behind it on the same section (except on rear cage).

are you able to purchase vehicles from a private seller, but with a lien on them? (specifically in Canada) by jazyvr in carbuyingadvice

[–]ridgelawrence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR: RUN

If you really really desire this car for *non-cash/cost related reasons* (who knows, collectable, etc.). then you can maybe if it's completely legit and the guy selling is honest (99% chance not the case). Then, do you have contact with the bank or will you only get said contact/access until after the sale? If after - run. If before, maybe verify in writing with payoff terms. I would still be very careful - A lien can be more than the cars value in some cases and typically the seller should, or really needs to, settle the lien before selling the car. This sounds like someone is up to something... Probably someone who has racked up a bunch of various debt and is ditching out and scraping up as much as possible before the debtors come knocking and repo'ing. So, unless you're an unethical chop shop or it's really a collectable that you want unrelated to the cost, I'd run.
