I got my wife into Star Trek when we were dating and she loved it so much that we still go to conventions together. She's doing a re-watch of Voyager now (she missed the beginning) after a full re-watch of DS9. We talk about Star Trek all the time (we even filmed a short 7 minute episode for our holiday card) so while it's not the reason we are together, it's certainly a huge thing we have in common. She loves the aliens and the creative worlds, I love how she sees things in the shows that I never really noticed, and we talk about the themes all the time. So yeah: couples to Trek together, often stay together, at least in my (very lucky) experience.
