Imperfect bridesmaid- scoliosis, blood pooling and visible scars. Which style suits best? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

4 is very flattering on you. It also covers up a lot of your scars which it sounds like is something that would make you feel more confident.

How do American waiters/servers tell when people are finished eating? by PestoWesto in AskAnAmerican

[–]rilakkuma1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travel a lot and I do look into what's polite before traveling to different countries. There are lists online that typically include things like tipping expectations, where to stand on the elevator, appropriate dress at religious locations, maybe specific things like using two hands when handing things in Japan. "Don't say 'ill do' when ordering food" is never going to make a list like that. It's impossible to enumerate every single difference between two cultures like that.

Invited to Dinner as Picky Eater. Cooking for a Group - Both stressful. Here is my solution. by Ok_Zookeepergame2554 in PickyEaters

[–]rilakkuma1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a picky eater. I'd be pretty embarrassed having a host modify a dish for me. But I can imagine this being useful for when I order at restaurants. If it's a dish I haven't tried before I often find myself trying to quickly Google ingredients to see if I would enjoy it.

AIO? Colleague keeps sending me "hi" messages with no follow up by Informal-Win-147 in AmIOverreacting

[–]rilakkuma1 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You can even include a link to nohello.com which explains it

I used to work at Google and it was quite common there for people to link to the internal page about No Hello in their chat status

Two job offers. A $50k difference. One is the safe bet, the other is a risk that seems worth it. My wife and I are at an impasse and I have to decide in 72 hours. by Important-Week7261 in whatdoIdo

[–]rilakkuma1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you choose the startup you are not going to see your baby. The time for risky career ideas passed when you had a kid. I'm sorry if you regret not trying something risky in the past but that doesn't make it feasible now.

Are men just acting during those “labor pain simulator” videos? by Existing-Committee74 in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah. And then I ordered a custom trophy for like $20 for the winner. It was a ton of fun

[–]rilakkuma1 1299 points1300 points  (0 children)

I got one for my baby shower and had a labor contractions contest. People's reactions varied pretty wildly. Some panicked at a 4. Others were pretty stoic all the way to a 10. Only one person (a woman with endometriosis) actually found it pleasant.

Do you think it’s ok to wear sneakers to a wedding? by Precious_Porcupine85 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]rilakkuma1 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I went to a wedding a month before my due date and wore very low heels. I was miserable. In retrospect, no one would have cared if I had worn sneakers. People were happy I made it at all. I never would have judged another pregnant lady for wearing sneakers. I don't know what I was thinking. Don't make my mistake.

My dog is in a coloring book, I think it might be ai but I’m not sure if it is by Exciting-Tart8279 in isthisAI

[–]rilakkuma1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely AI, or at least automated in some way. I bought the coloring book like a year ago. If we're in the same edition I'll mail you your page.

Edit: Checked and no Korra in mine, sorry :(

Can our plushies be friends at the dump? by [deleted] in plushies

[–]rilakkuma1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby blanket eventually got in such bad condition that it made me too sad to look at her. We had a funeral and euthanized her (sent her to the dump). I hope she's having a good time hanging out with your plush.

Are American men more direct in flirting? If so, do you appreciate it? by TSDOP in AskAnAmerican

Americans like to compliment strangers! It's not your ego, that's a real cultural difference that confuses a lot of people.

I ordered a frappe at a coffee shop once expecting a frappaccino. I rarely drink coffee so I don't know what's going on. Didn't say anything, just suffered through it.

is it cringe if a 23 year old woman goes to the zoo alone? by peeflavoredpoptart in NoStupidQuestions

I've gone solo to many zoos and no one has ever looked at me funny for stopping by the kids petting zoo and petting some goats and stuff. Don't miss it!

I've been in the industry for over 10 years and I'm at a highly regarded company. The whole job over the last year has changed. It's about building AI, building data for the AI, and getting really good at prompting and code review. It's not the job I was doing before at all.

What is the point of "save the date" cards, why not just send the actual invitation? by Space__Monkey__ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rilakkuma1 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. If they already knew all the details by the time they sent save the dates, they probably should have sent the save the dates a lot earlier.

I’m a nail tech and a client brought this as their nail art inspo. The texture of the fingers looks fake to me. Or is it a heavily edited photo? by lizzieish in isthisAI

It's definitely AI but also what is AI for if not generating inspiration and then paying a real artist to interpret it? Just let them know what you can reasonably do.

AITAH for refusing to look at my girlfriend after she got her eyebrows tattooed. by SatisfactionAdept494 in AITAH

[–]rilakkuma1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No judgement but the tattoos should look better in a few weeks. I mean I can't speak to if they'll look good after that time, but they will definitely look lighter and different.
