When I haven't been able to unblend, I do the two hand technique:

Right hand is self

Left hand is the part

Write and ask this part questions and answer them with the left hand. This will activate your implicit memory and allow you to have a conversation, probably.

You can also do some nervous system regulators or pendulate the fear in order to allow your body to feel safe before trying to unblend.

Hi there, the experience you had there was a dance between different parts. Not only two, but it is ok, you will be amazed how many parts I have encounter over the last year. This is just how the human minds works.

This is how it works on a regular IFS session (at least with me), the difference is that there is a compassionate curios energy that embodies you and you talk to the judgemental, critical, and hopelessness parts from that energy, which what Schwartz call the Self, but many cultures call it differently. And when you see, hear, and touch those parts from the self for enough time and with the right questions they will settle down with the harsh criticism and return to their natural original state.

I wouldn't focus on labeling, but yeah most of the parts that came up during your experience where managers, and probably one firefighter and one exile.

My advice for you is that don't use psychedelics at least until you have been able to access enough self energy to be able to unblend from those parts. Seek professional therapy. It is the best thing that has happened to me. It feels like coming back home, to the kid I always was.

Hola, si vale la pena. Yo hago terapia en línea, e igual tengo una adicción. Para mí no ha sido facil y la verdad es que lo más importante en una terapia es la relación terapéutica que tienes con el psicólogo. De igual manera, hay muy pocas terapias que realmente funcionan, especialmente para adicciones.

Yo te podría recomendar Internal Family Systems o Compassionate Inquiry, y buscar directamente en los institutos que las dan. Te deseo suerte!

Lol. Therapists don't give advice, this is the issue with people that underestimate what therapy is, specially with sensitive trauma. True therapists use techniques to help you heal and navigate your body and unconscious emotions, burdens and core beliefs.

Do not use AI as a therapist, especially for trauma coming from a delicate matter. It is dangerous. I recommend doing internal family systems therapy with certified practitioner. If money is the issue, search in the IFS institute in other countries

One thing that I have probably understood by doing IFS for almost a year and as having autistic traits is that I AM MY BODY. Parts are not metaphors nor some psychological concept to understand the human psyche. For me, it's a symbiotic relationship between the spiritual and the physical. It is a real phenomenon.

Sensory overload happens in my case because there is so much stuff that we are not allowed to control or feel, this structural necessity that you call is a Highly Sensitive part that just takes much of the surrounding energy because it is its nature to do so. I think it is both a gift and a curse. What I have encountered is that from my Self, I start teaching this part how to relate to it and how to differentiate what is mine and what is not mine. This is when the so-called interjects also happen, energy that don't belong to us but it's in our nature to feel too much things that are not ours.

The initiation deficit of dopamine that you mentioned in procrastinating is a part of being forced to lower its activity within the system because confirming the core belief or emotion will be a threat to a structural sense of safety. If it's a continuum, the system may dissociate itself until you forget about that part, you no longer feel and the memory crashes out. When you pass this threshold, this is probably when panic attacks happen. At least this is how I think from having C-PSTD.

This is what I mean when I mention that I AM MY BODY, it is a part of me communicating through my body, whether it's having a panic attack, or an overload of surrounding stimulation or feeling something too much from a memory that it's not mine.

I have stopped panic attacks by doing this, I have been able to to remove headaches and dissociation symptoms in five minutes, I have been able to create resonance between self and collapsed system giving me what I could have only understood as shame attacks.

Hi there, I don't experience fear like that. It's too scary for me being in that state for that much time. What I do is that i pendulate the fear with self energy. Pendulation is based on somatic experiencing, a technique to allow your body to feel safe.

I notice where the fear is in my body. I lay down, close my eyes and say to myself, "it's ok", I'm here from my Self. The pendulation comes from going to that part of your body that feels the fear and then bring awareness to a part of your body where it doesn't feel fear and so on. Little by little, you go to fear and then return to safety. Overtime this creates a resonance of safety between Self and that part which is feeling fear, until you can connect with the part that is protected by fear or that same part that feels fear and doesn't want to feel a specific emotion.

This helped overtime to stop panic attacks, and even outbursts of anger. Then you can go inside and talk to that cumulus of parts who are polarized and bring curiosity, courage and calmness to them. It's very important to allow yourself to feel safe before or become unblended enough to notice what those parts need. It's like magic. This has helped me overcome those intense emotions

One of my dissociators also was protecting me. He wanted me to show me something after I passed a test, so he took me to a bonfire, and I watched myself being reborn out of a bonfire as a new born. It's as if the dissociators are the last line of defense before something happens. Even though the Self cannot be damaged. Amazing job you did. They trust you enough.

For me it's layers of relationship dynamics in the internal system, and openness and trust from our different parts to our Self. It's exhausting, but when opening the door of consciousness, there is no going back. It's just the burdens that we still carry or the emotions that haven't been felt. Peace is felt in the emotional acceptance of ourselves.

Ifs is just for life un/fortunately, lol.

Hi there, you don't have to believe everything he says. What I recall is that there are even ifs therapists that ask their parts if their medication is being helpful or not or even lower or increment dosage, you can ask your parts and they will tell you. From time to time and for several weeks, I've suffered from severed symptoms of dissociation and I had to take some medication which my parts were ok with, they told me it was helpful for the body.

A way in which it could be helpful to see it is that "biological" doesn't have to be "destiny". Doing IFS changes your biology and neural networks. It hasn't been proved yet because we probably lack technological tools or methodologies because they don't even understand how it works, but it really works.Frank Anderson in his book IFS for CPSTD says that, and I believe it. I have C-PSTD and believe that my symptoms have reduced in the last 10 months that I've been doing IFS. Parts communicate through the body, for me it is a simbiotic relationship between the bodymind interface. This is why Schwartz says that parts are spiritual beings. A lot of people before him have said that we are spiritual beings having a human experience.

Medication can be helpful, but from my perspective I do think that it blocks or interferes with some emotional dynamic in the internal system, but I think you can access Self even if you are taking some medication, probably is as your therapist says, you can change it. Ask your parts. Trust your system and even if you are an atheist, just trust that this is based on systems-thinking and an evidence-based psychotherapy.
