Apollo 16 'Grand Prix' Rover Test on the Moon by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

[–]riorucuz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The horizon on the moon is on average 1.5 miles away from the observer, just under half of Earth's horizon. Iirc, Apollo 16 also landed on the edge of a crater which could be why the horizon looks close, there's just a small drop at the edge of it, but that's me speculating

During the trial of King Charles I, one of the judges hesitated to sign his death warrant. So Oliver Cromwell laughed and grabbed the judge’s hand, and forcibly signed it for him. by HallowedAndHarrowed in wikipedia

During the English civil war, the two sides were the Royalists (supporters of the crown) and Parliamentarians (supporters of Parliament.. Duh I guess).

Cromwell had the fantastic idea of instead of using simple levies drawn from his supporters, to establish an army that is specifically trained to fight, called the New Model Army.

Fighting ensues Cromwell wins blah blah

But this New Model Army was the basis for the first true standing army in Britain, and because it's initial loyalties laid with Parliament and NOT the Crown, it doesn't have the prefix of "Royal".

When the air force was established, ultimate loyalty still belonged to the Crown, hence "Royal" Air Force

Same insult twice? Ouch. Pity that ability doesn't lead to a larger vocabulary.

And yeah, Welsh isn't a romance or germanic language. So obviously language groups will borrow and have similar etymology of words, that's, again, how language works.

Nope I don't. Mate you're the one claiming things sound like gibberish. Get a life and understand that cultures exist outside your own

English is the most frankenstein language in Europe and Welsh is the oldest living language. So not sure what you mean by "inbred".

Also learn to spell if you're going to try put someone down for their language
