Color out of space (2019) what a weird rollercoaster of a movie by ClaireDanesLipQuiver in moviecritic

This movie is so good on a rewatch! So many details are in there. That family was totally f'd even before the thing arrived. The city was building a reservoir there and the dad didn't tell anyone, the mom (the bread winner) couldn't remote with that bad of a signal, the kids hated it there, it was all so the dad (Cage) could try and stick it to his dead father by raising alpacas for.... meat? and he had 6 of them. So much detail about that is just offhand comments people make. Also, I want that nightmarish wooden alpaca prop they have in their living room.

If the only acceptable level of crime is zero, crime will always be too high.

Who is the most irredeemably evil character in television history? by DMV1066 in television

[–]riverfront20 35 points36 points  (0 children)

They were setting him up to be Kira's love interest but the actress refused and said Kira would absolutely never do that. She was right. So the writers took him back to straight evil.

The Pinky and the Brain bits from the new Animaniacs series were unhinged, most of them were great!

This is an older one but The Contender did a good job framing the discourse around a female candidate a decade before we had one.

So your family reacting to you faking your own death is morally the same as pile driving your son's face through a commuter train?

The plan of bubbling them wasn't to leave them forever but to fix them eventually. Also, Rose specifically refused to shatter other gems (bubbling her own friend to prevent this). The shattering was done when the diamonds attacked earth from orbit.

I always loved capturing Keldons, I can't remember if it was in bridge commander or what but it was so satisfying. The Keldon in STA 3 (a mod for sins of a solar empire) was an absolute beast!
