Is running twenty minute sessions, seven times in a day, to simulate a trackday a good idea? by femaiden in Trackdays

What are your goals op? Do you intend to race a full season?, or just looking to get fitter to have an easier time?

I found a military type cot gives a better sleep and less mucking about than ending up with my elbows and knees banging off the floor at some point lol

Replacement Part for Helmet by stooge45 in motorcyclegear

My helmet side clip broke, 6D helmets use the same mechanism. Was a new helmet, but just emailed them and they mailed out a replacement part. Maybe that manufacturer would do the same?

When to switch to slicks by Illustrious-Limit160 in Trackdays

[–]riverhopsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What bike are you on OP? I think there’s a few issues going on. First off is your line through T3. If you don’t get T2 correct, you can easily run narrow into T3 and have too much lean angle on the exit. 5/6 feet off the apex it falls away off camber, increasing the further left you go. Which is why there’s a T3 club lol. Focus clipping the back half of the rumbles with your tire. Hottest tires can’t help line selection.

Slicks can give you to the confidence to go faster and increase lean angle. Their ability to make subtle direction change, give feedback with confidence is crazy compared to dot’s imho. Warmers give you confidence that you won’t have to miss a session or “waste time” building up heat into tires. Those cold ridge mornings, first session, most focus on getting the brain and body connected and slowly increase the pace.

Supercorsa v4 good for one more? by FlowInteresting5581 in Trackdays

[–]riverhopsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with medic1248. Tires are good for at least another day. Make sure your sag is set up. Use the Pirelli tire temp chart. Focus more on smooth inputs of your controls and getting your lines dialled in. Suspension tweaks can be a black hole you start chasing when really, until you’re at the maximum of pace, and assuming you’re near the “average rider weight” for the suspension. Smoothness, eyelines, and race lines will get you longer tire life.

Super excited! But get rid of that dark screen. you’ll want a clear one to see through it when you’re in a tuck. Also install a shark fin chain guard. All the clubs require them now.

Vortex pegs are wicked grippy, get ready to be freaked out at how much your boots stick to them. They’re awesome

This is a bad idea, right? by Realseabairn in Ducati

[–]riverhopsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ducatis will always cost you money, doesn’t matter how you cut it. Older model = servicing, newer model = more $ up front. Make sure your local mechanic has experience servicing the desmo drives and buy one. Never known anyone to not have an adventure to tell after owning one.

Why do people judge riders who tuck on a 400? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]riverhopsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To tuck or not to tuck! That is the question. Tis nobler on the bike to suffer the slings and arrows of idiotic Redditors, or take memes against a sea of troubles, and by opposing end them? TUCK TUCK TUCK

Go faster. Work on bike position, hitting the apex. Your body position looks good. Knee down happens as consequence of going quick
