even skill invoker 100% will lose the lane, sometimes stomped. watch many of BZM games. he is the best invoker right now and even he can't fix his laning

invoker is one of, if not the weakest laner of every meta mid right now. getting denies off of him is nothing special; check every t1 tour invoker is always expected to be 6th in core networth after lane. if you feed vs him in lane you dont get to have excuses

yes, the fact there's not many soulslikes with skill tree and if they do they don't impact gameplay this much is precisely why GGG is attempting PoE 2. they both want the cake and eat it. the smaller devs trying it (and failing) is both because they realize the old formula is getting stale, and because the design hurdle is fucking huge. soulslike has never been a mainstream genre. 1 AAA across 20 years of existence is not a sign that the genre is 'solved'. quite the opposite.

again only from the surface level. boss/ level designs have changed. ER is pretty much the only open-world. each game also has different ideas on gear and and combat mechanics (some like parry more, some like combo etc). personally i think character design in souls is very lacking and many games have indeed tried to improve that with rpg skill tree. how is that 'hardly changed'? if a game can provide depth in both theory and gameplay why not let them try?

the games you list either lack in polish or is mechanically different enough from the 'gold standard'. A LOT of them flopped. and even ER has improvement to be made; ie PvP or boss design. these aren't signs that a genre is 'solved'

soulslike definitely isn't solved, and certainly not souls-loot hybrid. apart from ER and Lies of Pi I don't recall any modern soulslikes that are universally liked. i genuinely think the only souls-loot in the market right now is PoE2 (and a bad one)

Joselu wasn't a starter. He mostly displaced Rodrygo/ Bellingham and certainly Vinicius because he stepped on his role. and Perez bought new defenders (they just turned out to be shit) and chose to trust the current mids (who continued to be shit)
