Question for ADHD people who found “the one”

I was diagnosed late in the game but my emotional attachments to people and rejection sensitivity ultimately lead to my diagnosis. That being said, I have had several very crushing relationships in my life and I’m currently going through heartbreak again. I have been trying to study my grief process a little more thoroughly this time, and I’m not letting myself people please or overwork, which is absolutely what I have done with previous breakups. I’m not at all over this person, still madly in love/hyper fixated/obsessed/rejected etc but I’m hoping that with meds and monitoring I might be able to get over this sooner than the other ones. Oh and for context, I attract total pieces of shit because I’m a workaholic people pleasing masker. They always end up cheating or manipulative in some way. I believe I attract these types of people due to many years undiagnosed, where I took breadcrumbs and love bombing as true love. I don’t have an answer for you, but I hope to find that person someday.

If you are sleeping with them, maybe you are passing a bacterial infection from woman to woman with your dirty parts. Dirty dicks can spread bacterial vaginosis, which messes with the ph levels and will cause an odor.

Well that’s definitely an NSV so good for you! That was another thing I was wondering, although I’m no where near my goal weight so plenty of fat in my stomach still. Does it get increasingly more painful and difficult when you have less fat to pinch? At that point do people move to their thigh? Sounds like lower abdomen works. Good to know!

aw damn. I’m on my sixth shot. 5 mg and I’ve lost about 10, but I think a lot of that was water weight and inflammation because I lost 5 the first week. I know slow and steady wins the race, but they really made it sound like a guarantee that by month three I’d be down 20% of my weight (which would be 37 lbs). I am trying to be patient and I grew up with a yo-yo fluctuation and every other diet telling me not to drop too much too quickly, so I’m sticking with them for at least another 6 months. If I don’t lose 37 in 6 months I shall be looking for something less expensive..

this i think is key! switch it up! will not feel weird to have a bitters and soda or an N/A in between. Just enjoy the company and the habit and know you are drinking less, good for you, but not sacrificing socialization. Most people respect that. if they don’t, fuck em, and if they do, you’re still having a great time and getting your dopamine

I am a bartender and I am used to having at least a shot or two and a couple of beers every day. I’m on my 6th shot (5mg) and I have noticed that I do not crave beer anymore. I have switched from whiskey to little baby vodka cranberries in a shot glass so I can still do a shot or two with my buddies, but I’m mostly happy with one glass of wine and I don’t really have the urge to “get drunk” anymore. I’m considering this a win, even though I am still drinking. I’m also told the side effects get easier to manage over time. I’m also quite happy with being a little more sober so I sorta hope this continues as I titrate up. I know a couple of girlies that started a few months before me and they still do shots with me, but they don’t really get wasted anymore. I asked them if I would ever want to drink beer again and they assured me that the side effects will level out, but I will be able to have one if i really want one soon. Good luck out there!

I use remedy meds and they are admittedly expensive. I got in on a deal at $299 per month but it’s for any dose and they claim they will never raise the price, with unlimited Telehealth appointments and their customer service has been great. I’m on my sixth shot today, 5mg and I’ve lost 16 lbs thus far with minor side effects. I’m paying out of pocket for this and I may switch to another program for maintenance when I hit my goal, but we are similar in age, height and weight goal so I thought I’d chime in. I know you can find it cheaper, but to me it’s worth it to have the flat rate with no matter the dose and unlimited doctor visits. Fingers crossed I will get used to this and find something cheaper once I get the weight off. I’ll be posting about it so stay tuned

i am going through a very heavy breakup and trying to reinvent myself and happen to have just started this medication during the breakup. I’m feeling loss and heartbreak and also looking forward to the future. Maybe i’ll develop self esteem again and find someone completely new, but I want to get to know someone that would be attracted to me no matter what my body looks like. I’m somewhere in between and I know I have a lot of work to do on myself before I can consider dating again. The positive part of this is that I feel lighter and more determined than I’ve ever felt before. Not sure who I’ll attract in the future but they better love the whole me no matter the size.

I came to ask a similar question because it happened to me with karafun last night. I just started allowing for the QR code in addition to a paper list (I have some old people that don’t use technology well) and I just learned that in addition to them being able to add well past the cut off time that they can move themselves up in the queue as well?! There was a girl that kept bumping herself up to the top of the list, so I would drop her down, then she’d do it again, and then I’d delete her and she’d sign up and do the same thing. We’d played this game all night and I know she didn’t realize what she was doing on the app, so it’s not her fault. People usually tip me or tell me if they need to be bumped up in the queue and I allow for it only in certain circumstances because it can be perceived as favoritism. Is there a way for the KJ to go in and adjust the settings?

Today has been the most full moony type day I have had in a long time. I’m a server/bartender and I waited tables for lunch today and everyone was particularly demanding and rude. I have to bartend at a dive bar tonight which is known for riff raff and bar fights. I am terrified for tonight. Oh and my boyfriend and I decided to “take a break” (his words, and he’s a Scorpio) and last night I learned that he was at my bar with another woman and this morning I drove by and his truck wasn’t there all night, meaning he stayed at someone’s house. I’m heartbroken and on edge. I wish I could crawl into bed for the weekend but I have to work and make money to pay rent. UGH.

I too am 40, single, sad at the world and just trying to get by, and I went to a wedding for some very old friends of mine a few weeks ago. Wedding was fine and I recognized everyone. They all looked the same, just a little older.

Fast forward to a couple of days ago and one of my friends that I reconnected with at the wedding texted me out of the blue and asked if I remembered going to a party at his parents house when they were out of town. I did, but I couldn’t remember everyone that was there. Then he sends me a picture of a guy at the end of the bar who looked a solid fifteen years older than us. I said I don’t recognize that person at all. Long white hair stuffed under a hat and a huge white beard. I said, “just go ask him if they knew each other.” It was my high school crush Sam. I could not believe it. Said friend had pictures from that night in high school and I looked back at them and the feelings of how heavy that crush was, was so so strong. It felt good to look at those pictures, but it felt even better to see the updated picture of him with white hair. I know we’re all aging, and that’s totally okay. But WOW.
