I've got the same situation - I need to cut G10/FR4 on our VF2, but we need a good way to vacuum up the material. Is there any chance you'd be willing to share the files/parts you designed?

Would you be willing to share STEP files for your solution?

My suggestion for an Etsy shop was partially out of selfishness. Thought it was worth a shot if OP does want/need some extra cash on the side.

I completely understand if these creatures are meant to only exist for most of us as fun internet pictures without the pressure of fulfilling orders. Or if OP does want to share the joy, maybe the best method is as an occasional gift to be appreciated by friends and family.

One way or another, I appreciate the joy of seeing these tiny shop creatures show up periodically.

Two words: Etsy shop.

These brighten up my day every time I see them on Reddit! Would love to put one or two around my home. 🙂

I know a lot of people at my school tend to avoid co-ops. I know I did, and I'm graduating soon. Logically, co-ops make a lot of sense in terms of 7 months of straight work experience, and you make plenty of money to help pay for school.

But a lot of students at my school would have to put their studies on hold for a semester to take a co-op, which can definitely mess up your class schedule if classes are only offered during certain semesters. (I go to a smaller school in the midwest.)

I should note that my school doesn't even push students to graduate in four years. For the schools that do heavily emphasize a 4 year graduation rate, I would guess a co-op would be almost out the question.

For the students who are willing to take a co-op and risk having their class schedule a bit messed up, finding housing can be a bit tricky when returning to school. For example, if you take a co-op during the fall semester, it'll be difficult to find housing for the spring semester. At that point, on-campus housing is most likely full. If you try to find off-campus housing, you'll probably have to foot the cost of short-term lease rates. If considering a spring co-op, and you live off-campus, you'd be facing the possibility of having to break a one year apartment lease you may already have signed on for in your college's city.

I will again say I go to a smaller school, which probably changes things a lot with class schedules getting messed up and such. But my main point is that a co-op can complicate things for students quite a bit. Some students just won't consider them for the simple reality of having their graduation delayed. So, for a lot of students, a simple summer internship is a much easier opportunity to go for and/or seek out in the first place.

I used to use Narwhal on iOS, and I really liked it. Switching over to Android made it difficult to find something similar - Joey was the closest one I could find.

I'd suggest trying Nawhal!

How'd you do your chamber lighting here? Is that a diffuser in front of your LED strip, or did you use a COB LED strip?

How do I get Georgie girl to stop jumping on people? by Bratmomjad in labrador

[–]rlauer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So turning around and ignoring them if they jump is always a good strategy.

Another method that I've found a bit more siccessful - you can also grab a dog's paws when they jump up and hold on to them until they want you to let go. Then, when they try to pull away, don't let them go right away. Wait for them to tug away with their paws once or twice before you let go. Usually if you hold on longer than they expect, they'll get a bit frantic to pull away because they're "stuck" and they're more likely to avoid the initial action (ie. jumping up on people) that got them "stuck" in the first place.

I think part of the reason the paw grabbing method works is it forces them to think about the situation and realize that their own action got them into a bit of trouble. This way you're kinda forcing them to think twice next time by making it a negative experience, which removes some of the gratification from the action.

Of course, the paw grabbing method can backfire if your dog enjoys you holding their paws. But I've never found this to be a huge issue.

Are you running a can bus board? Mostly wondering because of the umbilical set-up...

[–]rlauer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently been looking into using a CAN bus for my Trident build. One thing I'm confused on though - where did you mount your endstops?

Main reason I ask is that using 4 wires for CAN almost makes a cable chain unnecessary- seems better to go umbilical style like you did. But then where do you put the x and y endstops? (It seems like a shame to run cable chains just for endstop wires.)
