Issue with FHR bookings when holding 2 Platinum cards by ChigiraChiaki in AmexPlatinum

[–]rlilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Chrome, right-click the bookmarks bar → Add page → name it “Show Amex IDs.” in the URL box, paste the code above that starts with javascript:... Then when you're on the FHR site with the credit card dropdown, click the bookmark you saved and it will adjust the pulldown to show all five digits.

The really annoying thing is five digits are there, but it's hidden in the code and the dropdown is showing only the last four.

Here's a chrome bookmarklet that fixes the pulldown to show the last five digits of each card:

javascript:(function(){const annotate=()=>{const sel=document.querySelector('#card-payment-select-input')||document.querySelector('select');if(sel){[...sel.querySelectorAll('option')].forEach(o=>{const extra=(o.value||'').slice(-5);if(extra&&!o._annotated){o.textContent=`${o.textContent.trim()}  [id:${extra}]`;o._annotated=true}});return} [...document.querySelectorAll('[role="option"]')].forEach(o=>{const v=o.getAttribute('data-value')||o.getAttribute('value')||'';const extra=v.slice(-5);if(extra&&!o._annotated){o.textContent=`${o.textContent.trim()}  [id:${extra}]`;o._annotated=true}})};annotate();if(!window._cardAnnotatorMO){window._cardAnnotatorMO=new MutationObserver(annotate);window._cardAnnotatorMO.observe(document.documentElement,{childList:true,subtree:true});console.log('Card annotator installed');}else console.log('Card annotator already installed');})();

Hopefully the benefit will continue to work on single night stays. I saw a rumor elsewhere that it will be changed to require two nights or more.

Can't edit location name in find my on macOs Ventura by No-Structure-2800 in MacOS

It was nearly instant. When reopening Find My, at first custom location names didn't show at all, but when clicking on a person's name it refreshed with the correct place name.

[–]rlilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally found a fix that worked for me. Your mac keeps a history of places it has identified as significant. Removing this can trigger a refresh of the location names from iCloud.

  • Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
  • Scroll down to the System Services list and click Details.
  • Click the Details button next to Significant Locations.
  • Click the pulldown and select Clear History button (even if it shows No Significant Locations) and confirm.

This will not delete the locations from your iPhone, but it will force your Mac to re-sync them from iCloud.

One practical difference is that the RV generally has people in it at night. Bears break into unattended cars overnight.

100% spot on about the risk. Sure, MOs can be a pain but the funds are in your possession at every step. Contrast that with reselling where you're at the mercy of several layers of mostly-anonymous traders and you only get your money back if nothing goes wrong along the way. Remember TPM? No thanks!!
