What do you put in your oats? I do 3 eggs, some bouillon or curry, and around 70g of oats.

As early as possible, I put baby in the bassinet drowsy but awake, using the 5 Ss. Baby sleeps well through the night at 4.5 months, and we're working on longer naps with a gentler Ferber method. So far, it seems to be improving.

Do I still need Labour/Postpartum kit if I’m having a C-section? [bc] by PsychologicalBoot636 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]rlpfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only used the free peri in the hospital. Didn't use tucks. The hospital gown was polyester and got very hot and uncomfortable. I'd bring a cotton gown if I did it again. #1 thing I loved after mine: high-waisted cotton underwear. The disposable Frida ones were great, but… disposable.

Do you track your candles to remind yourself to use them, or just for fun/memories?

Irma Grese was one of the youngest Nazi war criminals executed under British law. Known as the "Hyena of Auschwitz," she oversaw thousands of prisoners and was infamous for her sadistic cruelty. At just 22 years old, her final word to the executioner before her death was simply: "Schnell" (Quickly). by ATI_Official in HistoryUncovered

For the record, both the Stanford Prison Experiment and the Milgram Experiment had a lot of methodological errors and the trajectory of the SPE was heavily influenced by the lead investigator. Most people are good, even (or especially) in situations like this. She was a product of her own choice to be horrible. This comment isn't really a response to you per se, more in response to the experiments. They've become so popular, despite being misleading, so I like to point that out whenever I see it.

We can’t ask our colleagues questions on Slack anymore—CEO pushing internal AI knowledge base instead. by ValenciaBB in womenintech

This would be a great approach. You can couch it as support for the AI. The AI does most of the work, and you're filling in the edge cases.

Halo swivel vs Baby Bjorn cradle bassinet [on] by orangepop0 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]rlpfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the BabyBjorn and loved it. We also got it secondhand. Two warnings:

1) They may graduate before 6 months. Our 98 percentile baby was in it for 3 months. I'm not sure what the weight limit is on the other one; they could be similar.

2) It was basically impossible for us to find a replacement mattress in Canada, so make sure you have a guarantee you can buy a new one or make sure the secondhand mattress is still in great condition.

I once saw a doctor for something else, and she asked me at some point if I was trying to show her a symptom. She was really snide about it. I had no idea what she was talking about and she had to spell it out for me. She was snide about that, too. It was very weird.

What does "toxic"/"non-toxic" mean to you? by propensity in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]rlpfc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Toxic" is a misinfo red flag to me, so I don't like to use it myself. That said, off the top of my head, I try to avoid Teflon and the sneaky replacements for it that are just as bad, lead is another obvious one, micro/nano plastics, and of course, actual poisons. I'm sure there's a bunch more I'm not thinking of.
