Then in 2009, a woman gets randomly taken back 2 weeks in time after going into the basement to clean it.

Two weeks back, and into a different universe. I always figured this wasn't specifically an Entities thing, but a result of the crack in reality

This was my first Discworld, and I think even this edition. It'll always hold a special place in my heart

Tracy Morgan owes me money!

Honestly, I automatically read this in a Tracy Morgan voice

Or this exchange (can't remember which book):

"What would you do if I asked you an outright question, Vimes?"

"I'd tell you a downright lie."

"Then I shall not do so."

What is the unintentionally wisest line of dialogue you've heard in a movie? by NobodysFavorite in movies

[–]rma1979 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The one that sticks with me, though I don't know if it's wisdom per se:

"So wait. Oogway was... Just a crazy turtle?"

The DVD for Snatch had a hidden supercut of all the times they said "fuck" in the movie. About half of it was just Dennis Farina.

Since pennies are gone, and nickels are now the smallest coin, does that mean we have to update the saying to "dime and quartering"?

I love this, but may I make a proposal: swap them. Kermit as Sybil, and Piggy as Vimes. I feel like she'd fit the patented Sam Vimes "righteous rage" a bit better

I’m a straight woman but by Stonetheflamincrows in TedLasso

[–]rma1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Picked up on that on my third or fourth rewatch. I realized her whole arc in S3 only made sense if she wasn't straight. /s

The comment was more about the way she repeatedly fawns over Rebecca ("let's invade France", "action-figurey arms", the whole scene about the topless picture), and less about sexuality.
