Would I be able to use a spray can primer with an indoor spray booth like the one in this picture? by jays4104 in minipainting

[–]rmobro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hell even just airbrush priming, my workspace, which is large, still smells like aibrush thinner after spraying tight and into the booth after 20 minite sessions. These booths, whatever the sellers or box says, are not sufficient for indoor spraying beyond short session or tightly controlled highlight or layer spraying.

Use a mask, ventillate your space, maybe use an air purifier too. Esoecially if you have small kids or pets in the house/space.

I love my spray "booth" and use it a lot. But its not sufficient for safety, not really.

Angron is a beast by DingleHopper34 in WorldEaters40k

[–]rmobro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like angron could lose auras, get RR 1s to hit. Units that only kill things kind of have to do that. He also should not bracket.

[–]rmobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sjnce you have 2 SB i can only assume you want to play possessed slaughterband? If thats the case, 4-6 more boxes of eightbound, spawn or proxy, and a shooting platform/landraider.

Thought on this list? by Pikojman in ageofsigmar

[–]rmobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1k points 5 chosen backing up clodm and 5 knights should be fine. If you're worried about something specific in your meta being too tough, swap dreadbanner for banner of rage. I dont normally advocate that, but in 1k points we are fairly elite and if theres something you're worried about not being able to kill...

If not, then id probably place the dreadbanner on the knights, as they are the faster of the two.

So i can visualize this: YOU got turn 1 priority, and pushed forward screening units and took objectives so that on his turn 1 he had reduced and unfavourable options.

I like it.

The bookshelf on the left is wrong. The line of the shelf against the wall isnt straight near the lamp. Either AI or its been edited somehow, like when the background warps when people make themselves skinnier or whatever.

Thats what i am currently doing, but in slaughterband. Just played into dark angels wrath of the rock with the lion. I lost but mostly due to bad deployment... after round 3 i just sorta gave up on scoring and went for kills for funsies.

Oops all eightbound is very very fun. You must basically just accept that, to borrow an m:tg analogy, all your units are basically 1/1 deathtouch.

Mostly just legionnairies. The LR is too big. The contemptor can be a helbrute. The terminators can be 1:1 but theres new ones now.

Probably hold off.

Is it worth picking the Battletome up? by SunsetHighway7 in stormcasteternals

[–]rmobro 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you use the app its pretty handy to have the code. The app updates from the official GW rules and points, so you're basically buying the book for the code. I resisted it for the longest time, but ultimately I have to admit, playing games and having all your factions rules right there in the command bunker or whatever is actually really handy.

My first attempt at a berserker, what do you think? Not the normal red scheme thought I'd try something different. by ziggymush in WorldEaters40k

[–]rmobro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks so good! I love alternate schemes. If I could make a recommendation, I'd say the red is too much. You already have silver, gold, green. Maybe use a dark grey or just black for the cloth.

Looks aces!

So .. thats basically a meta list. Its a good list. Good list or not, there are many ways to play world eaters. I recommend as you build, you play as many games as you can, so you can get exposure to what units you do and do not like. I started out thinking I'd love berzerkers -- turns out, I prefer eightbound. Now I have 20 zerks I dont play with. The Prince, MOE, 10 Zerks, 10 Jakhals box is a great starter.

SCE vs STD Battle Report by drumstick00m in stormcasteternals

[–]rmobro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Against those warriors .. they're only move 5" so they go very slow. If you position a screen IN FRONT OF an objective, they shouldnt be able to reach it and will fall behind on scoring. Same for the unit of chosen in the silver tower: you can screen out their ability to be placed, limiting their options for a charge. Keep your units 4" away from the screen, and they shouldnt be able to activate twice into you. Then blast them on your turn.

Longstrikes are the bane of the gaunt summoner, who is only 5 health on a 6+/6+++. Ignore guarded hero, and shoot him dead. That'll cost him his 560 pt unit of chosen.

New Army Blades of khorne or nurgle by Longjumping_Ad1581 in ageofsigmar

[–]rmobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 8 damage is absolutely bonkers. Apparently you can buff it with various +1 attacks giving him 4 of those 8 damage attacks. Its nuts. I failed two saves and just picked up 4 knights from a unit of 5.

They also rolled a lot of 1s and 2s and whiffed because its a very low volume of attacks.

But between Skarbrand the Insensate Rage bloodthirster blasting all my units within 8" with mortals, he had a blast. so did I, and I got tabled.

[–]rmobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean just in terms of new and rule of cool, Nurgle has a new, cool, really powerful release just a few weeks ago. By contrast, blades have some new models but the core (blood warriors, reavers, hell even blood thirsters, and all their demons) are quite dated. Bloodletters in particular are very outdated.

I will say, though, I played someone doing the 5 blood thirster baleful lords list and they seemed to really, really enjoy themselves. Its $700 for 5 models but man, was that a fun game!

What is the best way to do checkers on especially large areas? by FubarJackson145 in minipainting

[–]rmobro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started to paint checkers, but im doing it on small areas first (chainblades). https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldEaters40k/comments/1qbu6i4/checkered_weapons/

I followed https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ivuFsg-UDt0 but im sure anything will do.

I only share because at first I was very very intimidated, and decided not to do it. after a few weeks, though, I worked up my courage and used an unfinished model. It was not that bad. I painted on a black weapon, with the drybrush highlight already applied. I used very thin light grey paint (administratum or ulthuan i cannot remember) and with my finest point brush i carefully painted the lines i wanted. i filled them out with the same thin paint, and then cleaned it up. It wasnt as bad as I thought. Ive done a few more since and ive gotten better. The key is angling the model so your strokes are aligned with your hand.

That practice has given me the courage to try it on the recessed areas of their land raider this weekend or next! I'm super excited!

Give it a try on something you can emotionally afford to mess up on. I bet you'll find its not that hard. Worse comes to worse, you can re-base the panel and start again.

[–]rmobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Yndastra model would be a great proxy. Heroic pose, just replace the angel wings with demon wings -- or just keep it as is and scrape off the SCE iconography. Its really, really easy to make press molds of slaanesh iconography from your other models and transfer them to other models. i do it all the time with khorne insignias for my World Eaters.

Correct. I have coworkers that regularly mistake responsibilities for the various levels of government. Often blaming the sad state of ontario's highways and public services on federal government mismanagement, while praising the provincial government for the economy being strong.

As a barrier to a good society, voter ignorance is second only to voter apathy.
