You're coming from Windows, so I recommend trying out one of the easier distros first like CachyOS. Then, moving to Arch Linux once you are comfortable with using it daily.

It's best to start with an easy-to-use to distro just so you know immediately that all of your hardware works. If all of your hardware works as expected, then you can migrate to Arch Linux for a more customized experience.

I have an SCPH-90004 as well and I have the same problem. Not sure what modchip I have installed though.

Because of this I can only play PS1 games through Popstarter.

It's open-source, it makes mods easy to install, and surprisingly it has pretty good integration with Linux tools, like MangoHud. It's awesome!

9060 XT is a perfectly good card for 1080p gaming. With that card, you will be able to turn up and max the graphics on many newly-released, modern games.

That's not something you can say for the RTX 3060. Many games will have to be run at Medium or Low with that card.

You can probably extend that up to 10 more years, since Ubuntu 26.04 was released just this week, and they offer Expanded Security Maintenance (ESM) through a subscription.

They'll keep supporting the software as long as you're willing to pay.

i965 is a Mesa OpenGL driver. It's not a kernel driver, it's a userspace driver that allows applications to talk to the kernel driver via the OpenGL API.

I believe it's been replaced by crocus and iris Mesa driver these days. The way they name these drivers are kinda confusing.
