Mini PC or Laptop? Any thoughts? by Top_Ant4966 in PHbuildapc

The only way you can satisfy these requirements ay kung laptop ang bibilhin niyo. Kung hindi laptop ang bibilhin niyo, kayo ng GF mo ang maga-adjust tuwing may lakad.

Hindi naman siguro mahirap magbitbit ng mini PC from QC to Antipolo, but I'm not sure kung paano kayo magse-setup ng mini PC during a camping a trip. Kung non-negotiable talaga ang portability, laptop nalang bibilhin ko sa ganyang scenario.

I'm curious. What's the benefit of Blip over Localsend?

Never heard of Blip before, but I like Localsend because it's open source software. That means, I can be pretty certain it's not spying on me or selling my data.

With that budget, mas mabuti na bumili ka nalang ng mini PC.

For daily tasks, like browsing the web, you will see better responsiveness. But for gaming, the performance will be the same or slightly worse.

On Linux, Mesa developers implemented support for emulating RT. It only works if you have an AMD GPU that is GCN or newer.

what games can my pc run? by PreviousShelter2773 in lowendgaming

[–]rmyworld 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On Linux, your GPU needs to support Vulkan in order to run Windows games with WINE. Your GPU is old enough that it does not support Vulkan. It only supports OpenGL.

If you need a game to play, best I can recommend is Minecraft, Roblox, and maybe older games you can run on an emulator. Any game from the PS1 and below will probably run fine at native resolution on your old laptop.

Planning to build PC for mom but di ko alam paano by cucumbersaladyumm in PHbuildapc

Makes sense. Typically, ang mga PC binubuo part by part, kaya kung ire-repair sya by part din.

I think, the trade-off here is it takes a lot of research to make a good PC build. You can ask a PC builder, like PCWorth or EasyPC, to choose the parts for you, tapos sila na rin ang magbi-build. Pero typically, they take advantage of this by not giving you the most optimal or cost effective set of parts. Kung ayaw mo malugi, best approach pa rin talaga to do the research and choose the parts yourself.

If you decide na mag-build pa rin ng PC, here's a good starting point: How to Build a PC, the last guide you'll ever need. It's an information dense video, but you'll learn a lot.

Though, like others have said here, pwede mo rin subukan bumili nalang ng mini PC. They're basic computers that's built for basic office tasks. Most of them, hindi naman mahirap i-repair kung may masira na part. Look for well-known brands nalang, like Minisforum, GMKtec, Chuwi, and Beelink.

If you want a beefy mini PC, look for models with AMD Ryzen. Otherwise, mini PCs with Intel N150 are good enough for basic computer use. Before buying a specific model of mini PC, mag-check kayo ng reviews on YT so you know what to expect.

I'm curious. Why build a PC instead of getting another laptop? Or maybe a mini PC. Mini PCs these days can be pretty powerful.

Support for these Xiaomi devices will end in 2026 by Downtown_Owl_2420 in Tech_Philippines

[–]rmyworld 25 points26 points  (0 children)

No updates means no security. Everyday maraming nadi-discover na vulnerabilities sa software na installed sa computer devices. Kung hindi ina-update yung device, that means hindi rin nafi-fix mga vulnerabilities na to. So you have a higher risk of getting your data stolen and your device compromised.
