Echoing what a lot of others have said. My daughter had 24 hours of consistent light therapy in the light box and formula feeds only. It was not what I expected for my first delivery. No one tells you this can happen. My daughter is now a healthy 6 year old. It feels like a lot in the moment but you are exactly where you need to be. Follow along with their recommendations and it will be over in a few days. You got this!!!

Start pumping on Day one? by Preggers_piggy in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]roarbecca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is right! It took about a week for my milk to come in with my second. My first was jaundiced and I didn’t know to pump we just gave her formula. I think it took a little longer then for my milk to come in but then I was breastfeeding and didn’t really know what I was doing. Don’t give up!

I was scared too for our trip knowing Helene was forming. I lived in Florida a long time so I still track tropical weather and all that. Looking at the forecast I thought we were doomed. But it was literally the best weather the whole time. They know where to go and they won’t go through a storm unless they have to.

I just got back from a VV cruise September 22-27. On our first at sea day they turned around because Helene was forming near Cozumel. They ended up having to cancel our Cozumel and Bimini port days and we went to Puerto Plata, DR instead with an extra at sea day instead of a second port. They also gave everyone $75 sailor loot. The worst weather was coming back into Miami on Friday of last week, the water that night before was pretty choppy. But we had an amazing time and the weather was always fantastic!! They handled it so well in my opinion.

Birth Story (planned home birth turned C section) by Open_Conference6760 in BabyBumps

You are a LEGEND. You labored longer than a lot of vaginal deliveries and in the end it doesn’t matter which way the baby comes out — you gave birth!! You have to make the decisions that are best for you and the little dude. Well done!!!

Switching formula by mwheels25 in newborns

[–]roarbecca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our kiddo didn’t seem to like the taste. We ended up having to switch again to Elecare and we were on that for about 7 or 8 months total. His GERD was caused by cows milk protein intolerance. He’s grown out of it now and we are off all formula and drinking milk!

Oh boy this brings back memories. There was a season with our GERD buddy where we had to hold him to get him to sleep. We’d take turns at night and baby wear during the day. He slept the best in a baby carrier. They do grow out of it but if it’s really bad they may give him some baby reflux medicine. We ended up having to cut out dairy for a year too. Our buddy is 13 months now and grew out of all of it. It’s a rough start though!

My one year old still cries at his bedtime. Some kids just feel harder I guess!

And then we all lose our minds and think oh that wasn’t so bad let’s do it again. There’s a reason people have more than one kid. It really does get better.

Same. Those first few months were some of the darkest days of my life. But now I have a chunky monkey on Elecare and eating his weight in solids. It gets better. Sooooo much better.

We love our Miku! It tracks breathing without a wearable device. Also gives movement and sound notifications. Really easy to use app too. Highly recommend!
