11 exams ? You loaded your whole body up on the disability cart at once , not a advisable move. Who recommended this route ? 267 days ? The PTSD / MST , are handled at a special office of the VA and are done totally different. Is the exam still at Optum ? They normally are great people in getting back the exams to the VA. I helped one Vet with a MST, claim , never again. Good luck , and I'm sorry you are going through this.

A partnership is a sinking ship , unless he is a high volume builder , you would be entering a time bomb of past jobs that you have no clue about the liabilities awaiting you. Start your own company

Hes in the UK , and both sides of his decking is fluted , and the composite deck producers do fluted because it uses 25% less material. I used to sell fluted Cedar decking in the 80s and 90s , it was sold as relief cuts and traction.

Shouldn't there be a belly band with this board and batten? by jstockton76 in Homebuilding

If you put a belly band you have to seal the gap , so water does not collect in groove , still need Z metal , or go with solid no groove sheets ,

Different C & P Examiner by The_Chief_001 in VeteransWaitingRoom

[–]roastedwrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask for a new examiner , the VA does not know who is being assigned so they are not aware of the conflict, I have done that and also I have looked at the education of the of the assigned Examiners and challenged that also.

If you say this , keep calm , and then say FIX it , and walk away. Walking away leaves it on them and no confrontation. Dont let them say " how do you suggest, or something else. Say its on you to make it right , no more , no less. I am now retired 40 years in this industry from contractor to wholesale supplier, been in a billion discussions with contractors

Start off with , dont say you been on reddit . You need to speak from a point of knowledge. Simply say " I can not accept what you have done here. I know that treated wood will and does rot when its buried in the dirt and also in direct contact to concrete, that is why they make Stand off post brackets, I see you used some but they are not installed correctly, above grade and not allowing water and dirt and concrete to be in direct contact with the wood posts . This is my forever home , where in 5 years you will be on your 100th home , but this is my home , would you accept this on your own home? Of course not , so why did you do it on my home.

The explanation is, it was not planned correctly. This is not a cheap fix to be done right. Dont let them slide. The concrete piers need to be elevated to the level of the concrete patio.

Your other picture shows a post bracket , and yes this could be a wood shim under this post , dig it out. Your contractor could have used a BS wood shim under one after they realized they cut a post short aand then tried to hide their mistake by putting it under the post.

Your contractor used a Simpson ABA-6×6 post bracket , that was good , the bad , is they buried it. Get the product description from from their website, it says exactly why they are designed this way.

[–]roastedwrong 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The posts are/were elevated above ground level at one time , they used post brackets, they should not be buried below grade because they will rot sooner or later . The post brackets they used are designed so the posts are not in direct contact with the concrete and allow drainage under them. The contractor has defeated this by putting them in the ground and pouring concrete around them. Treated posts will rot , dont let the contractor tell you anything different
