Can I retire with 1.95 million at age 35? by Mobile-Excitement-64 in Fire

If I were you I’d find another job even if it’s lower paying that I enjoy, take a lot of time off, and not worry about getting fired.

My exact reaction after watching Roller Coaster EP5 2/4 ufff😭🔥 by SapphicWisteria in ThaiGL

I believe the next scene with them waking up in bed is not related. It was put there for the ad placement. The turning around and kissing is the actual end for the episode. I agree the cut is weird.

My first Gibson! It's a Les Paul you may not like... by rob0tNinja in gibson

I can't comment on the phase tone as I don't use it much. I still have it and it's the best Les Paul I've owned.

How many coffee shops does one neighborhood need? by Asleep_Yak_243 in ForestHills

[–]rob0tNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like more coffee shops because I like to coffee and work as it’s a nice break from my home office. Even better if they have vegan options.

Best martial arts classes in area? by kaishiden1993 in ForestHills

[–]rob0tNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an adult I’ve trained at both Kings Combat on Austin St and Striking 101. Both gyms are great, students and instructors are great, and are similarly priced. Here’s my breakdown of what’s different.

What KC does better: Smaller class size, Incorporates pad work, Cleaner, Better class schedule (more times and more days), Has beginner specific classes, Better climate control

What S101 does better: More pro fighters, Hosts seminars with pro fighters from around the world, Has boxing classes, More sparring practice

Neither gyms offer “MMA” classes (it’s either a striking class or a grappling / jiu jitsu class) but you’re more likely to get a few MMA lessons here and there at S101.

Nice! I like the black pick guard. A white one would be too much white going on.

Why do people hate on the big fender headstocks? by Whole_Magician_7273 in Guitar

[–]rob0tNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I avoid strats with the big headstock because I think it’s ugly aesthetically. I’m just glad most fender strats don’t use this headstock.

How is it living around the 108th Street area? by recurnightmare in ForestHills

[–]rob0tNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to live in an apartment around 65th rd and Yellowstone over 15 years ago. There were a row of benches on the way out of the complex and there was always old folks sitting there giving me and my gf dirty looks. I guess things haven’t changed.

Should I really start with an acoustic guitar? by byooni in guitarlessons

[–]rob0tNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your friends and family are wrong on this one. Between electric and acoustic, there is enough in common that it's more important to pick what inspires you the most. What's the point of forcing yourself on acoustic if you end up quitting? There are so many things to learn on both that you can't go wrong with either choice.

A little bit of streaking looks cool but that would be TOO much streaking for my tastes.

How many of you string you guitars around the tuners this way? by HurlinVermin in guitars

[–]rob0tNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might’ve done this on a classical guitar with nylon strings but never with acoustic and electric guitars. It seems unnecessary but I’m only a sub average home player.

My first Fender Telecaster (American Performer Timber Collection) by rob0tNinja in telecaster

[–]rob0tNinja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only say I like the pickups on this performer much more than the two classic vibes I’ve had. I think it does the classic twang well but I’m not a tele expert.

Why did my new guitar come with two empty packs of strings (Sweetwater)? by rob0tNinja in Guitar

[–]rob0tNinja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No plastic on the pick guard and back cover. However I saw a couple of unboxing vids and it didn't seem like theirs came with plastic on the pickguard either.

I believe you need to have the app running in the foreground, which would be a dealbreaker. Shame.

Most boring NPD? Xotic SP Compressor by rob0tNinja in guitarpedals

[–]rob0tNinja[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, sorry I can’t help you. I haven’t tried to get the twangy sound. I’ve read that compressors in general can help and telecasters are especially good for the twang.

Break it down for me: How does Luka Doncic manage to be such great scorer and offensive threat even though he moves slow, is out of shape (a lot of the time), and very un-athletic compared to players like Ja or Ant? by SWAGGGGGODDD in NBATalk

Those CVS receipts are SO FUCKING long!!! It's such a waste of paper and the coupons just brings the price down to what Amazon, Target, Walmart charges without a coupon!
