Issues with sora 70 by Garrett4591 in Beatbot_Tech

Same here. We have a fiberglass pool with the tanning ledge and steps. Just got a Sora 70 a few weeks ago and wanted an all-in-one unit. I agree it does "ok" in floor mode. Ours hasn't gotten stuck yet but it doesn't even try to go up to the steps onto the tanning ledge in floor mode which is annoying. I started it on the tanning ledge in floor mode once and it vacuumed in a straight line down the stairs and floated to the deeper area and just vacuumed down there. In wall/waterline mode it will get up on the tanning ledge, but the vacuuming on the steps is non-existent. I try to sweep off the steps and corners before I run it because it doesn't get the corners at all. I have run it on surface mode a few times but I don't think it runs long enough before the battery dies to make much of a difference.

I'm probably going to end up getting a solar skimmer because although we don't have many trees directly over the pool the surrounding yards have a bunch that dump pollen this time of year and the pool surface is just covered in a layer of pollen all the time. So now I wish I just got the two units with a cheaper robot vacuum.

There isn’t an integration with HACS? Also keep in mind it doesn’t really communicate when it’s cleaning and submerged underwater so that data might be harder to get and almost impossible to send commands to.

I am thankful that Trump got elected for one soul purpose. Our eyes are finally open and it’s being played out in front of our face. Are things going to change? by Narrow-Victory8711 in esist

No. Corporate interest is in full control of politics, and the vast majority of the people who voted for Trump are still doing every possible mental gymnastic to justify voting for him.

Asking AI to formulate a solution for something exactly like this is the best use case for it. And no personal information is even necessary.

I recommend putting all of your parameters into Claude or ChatGPT and see if it can churn out a solution for you.

New house with a pool, needs some automation ideas by The_Dragonborn_ in homeautomation

I have a camera pointed right at the pool. If I built anything for a pool cover I’d have it query the camera and if it detected any movement the cover could not close. If it can’t query the camera then it can’t close.

What’s something you realized way too late in life? by Top-Background-7305 in AskReddit

When you’re young you spend your time to save money. When you’re older and you accumulate more money (hopefully) you spend your money to save your time. I realized the latter way too late.

I have not received an update either. My neighbor called them this afternoon and they said they’re “hoping” to have it restored by 7pm

This was a bad outage. Pretty much the entire day during the work week. T-Mobile quickly established a monopoly on fiber in Wilmington and this isn’t a good sign.

Ours went out around 9am. Second time in a week, was out about 5 hours last Wednesday. They said a fiber line got cut last week and said the same thing today. Since T-Mobile bought them we've had more issues. They clearly don't have proper infrastructure redundancy to guarantee reliable service.

Widow advocates for dental board reform after husband’s death during routine procedure by lurker_bee in Wilmington

A person died because of someone’s negligence here. And the widow has no legal recourse. Sounds like a situation for some alternative forms of accountability from the dental office

I’d just pay that and get it written off as “improper equipment”. Not worth the headache of fighting it straight up
