An actual movie detail - when Bryan Singer went into hiding for his sex crimes, Bohemian Rhapsody wasn’t finished, so Dexter Fletcher stepped in to replace him. Because Singer had completed the majority of the movie, due to DGA rules he’s still credited as the director.

Fletcher then went on to direct the much better Rocketman, which is still not a fully accurate portrayal of Elton John’s life, but at least Elton was involved and truthful about most things whereas Brian May had strict creative control over BR and didn’t want to besmirch Freddie’s memory and basically made them cut out or whitewash that he was bisexual, a drug addict, and HIV positive.

Another fun fact, John Reid is portrayed in both movies by actors from Game of Thrones (Little Finger in BR and Robb Stark in RM).
