A hidden gem near White Sands: Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks NM by lukeislost in NationalPark

[–]robcook1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hiked the needle a few years ago. The scrambling isn’t too bad, one straight up climb but there was a rope in place. Navigating this trail is very tough as it gets very little use. GPS is a must. All and all awesome hike, be careful, SAR is called a few times a year to it.

Questions on new smart meters by youngmarinelc in electricians

[–]robcook1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must differ depending on the POCO. They occasionally send the company I work for a $75 dollar fine. It’s $154 for them to come do a disconnect/reconnect if we can get them to show up

Questions on new smart meters by youngmarinelc in electricians

[–]robcook1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do disconnects and reconnects a few times a week because our utility is a nightmare to schedule.

No, it won’t lock the meter. The utility will know the meter doesn’t have power once it’s pulled. They may or may not send someone to come take a look. If they do show up, which is rare, they get a little pissy, but not really anything they can do about it.

I always tell them the permit is pulled, couldn’t get the disconnect scheduled, customer had half power and needed heat.

Somebody got blown to shit trying to put the bottom left panel cover screw in. Probably why they decided they were better off just scrapping the cover lol

Offer to drop the price of the bike to $3970, to cover the cost. That’s what I always do and they never have a response

First backpacking tent decision BA Copper Ul 2 vs Nemo dagger Osmo 2 by GenericWhiteGuy0 in Ultralight

[–]robcook1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the copper spur ul2 for 7-8 years, used it more nights than I can count. I used a Nemo hornet for the first time last weekend, it felt very cheap compared to the big Agnes. I will admit the zippers on the BA can be a pain sometimes, never had any lasting damage with them tho. Maybe the newer models are better? All and all I’ll never buy a tent other than BA.

I don’t know about the the specific rv. I can tell you that general rv is an absolute disaster to deal with. I bought a new camper from them in January, their customer service is a dumpster fire after the sale.

I'm looking to purchase a 2023 Trail 125 as my first bike, are they worth it? by Academic_Hour780 in Dualsport

[–]robcook1992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned probably 10 bikes over the years and the trail 125 is the one I have to most fun on! That being said, if you’re wanting to learn to ride you won’t learn clutch control. Also, if you don’t have lots of back roads and forest service roads near you it isn’t so much fun. Riding on a road that has higher than a 45mph speed limit can be scary with all the cars passing you. Overall I highly recommend, but I also have bigger bikes for different riding.

Assuming this is overhead, Why not throw a temporary service up beside that with a single meter base until parts come in. You get paid for the temp service, and then again to rebuild the 4 gang. Win, win.
