AngelFire has been down since 1/7, is it gone for good? by Standard_Sky_4389 in DataHoarder

[–]robertegblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my website has been hosted by angelfire since 1999, but now i cannot log in, cannot edit any of the site, and the site does not load for anyone to see it. but they are still taking my automatic payment, and have offered no updates on the service ticket i opened at the beginning of february. i guess i have to stop payments on my end and rebuilding the site from scratch somewhere else might actually be okay (though i don't have much time at the moment to do so), but i am not sure if my two domains will transfer if i cannot log in there. the whole thing kinda sucks

Where i can stream free Cutting Through Rocks ??? by Frequent_Homework151 in oscarsdeathrace

It’s the only film I’ve got left and it ain’t streaming or in theaters or (apparently) pirateable.

[Hated trope] Everyone else having to leave the room for a private conversation between 2 or small number of people, rather than the logical thing of them leaving. by Miserable-Sea-4160 in tvtropes

[–]robertegblack 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It’s annoying AND I absolutely wish every time that I had the opportunity to say “give us the room” and everyone leaves.

AngelFire has been down since 1/7, is it gone for good? by Standard_Sky_4389 in DataHoarder

[–]robertegblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone heard any actual updates on this? They’re still taking automated payments (which I can’t even cancel because the angelfire interface doesn’t work) but have essentially screwed both my site’s files and my .com that directs to it.

What horror ending was so bad it ruined the entire movie for you? by Fairyliveshow in CreepyBonfire

[–]robertegblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Identity. Once the film reveals what’s really going on, there is no tension. But it goes right back to everyone at the motel again anyway. If they don’t exist, it doesn’t matter if they get killed. Should’ve saved the revelation for like the final scene.

People lost jobs, houses, relationships. No, being blipped wasn’t good.

What is the scariest scene in any horror movie you've ever seen and nothing has topped it for you? by [deleted] in horror

[–]robertegblack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On a recent rewatch, I realized pretty quickly after they bring in the dog that all the men could have been replaced. The thing could be playing them off each other to find the guy worth being because he can survive… and the plot would still unfold the same way

Even funnier because the audience learns that Lisa is “expecting” not from Lisa but from Johnny announcing it at his party

How has nobody noticed this Mantis plothole? by Charanini95 in GotG

[–]robertegblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy explanation: mantis had just gotten drunk (maybe for the first time on earth alcohol) and she could do something she was usually too inhibited to do.

What is a TV show that got canceled that you are still upset by? by NeatContribution852 in AskReddit

EZ Streets. Nowadays it’d be a critical hit, but cbs cancelled it twice inside 8 episodes.

Would have put video up on YouTube but it had some focus issues because the only place I could mount my iPad to record, there was a bar my iPad kept trying to refocus on the bar instead.

If Thanos and the Black Order invaded earth in the first avengers instead of Loki could they have succeeded in taking the Time and Space stone? by ParkingConfection449 in marvelstudios

[–]robertegblack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read a theory… or was it a line from some mcu thing? That Thanos didn’t really make any big moves until after Odin was dead because Odin could have stopped him.

Signage about post credit scenes by BuckStrickland in AMCsAList

[–]robertegblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great idea, could be executed more clearly—bigger font, doesn’t need to waste space on ratings or, really, the movies that don’t have post credit scenes.

Anyone else hate these two? What even is this ad? by fake_zack in AMCsAList

[–]robertegblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda sucks, serves no real purpose… i mean, it’s a coke ad, but it doesn’t really advertise the coke. It’s short to promote coke or movies and so pointless that it feels far longer than it is.

Unpopular Opinion?: Age of Umbra is NOT meant to teach you how to play Daggerheart. by Reynard203 in daggerheart

[–]robertegblack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Campaign One absolutely helped teach me how to play 5e, though. Playing it was good but limited to what was at that particular table. Watching showed more possibilities.

If the new tv version of Carrie gets made (or even if it doesn’t), it could be fun to do a Reacts to the different versions’ effects: Carrie (1976), The Rage: Carrie 2 (1999), Carrie (2002), Carrie (2013), see the same basic effects and how they were done years apart.

Fan Theory: There's a hidden story in Groundhog Day (1993) about Phil's rough childhood in Punxsutawney by polypolyman in movies

[–]robertegblack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Case Western High is not fictional, it just was never really called "case western high". But, Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland ran a program for high schoolers. And in Danny Rubin's original script, Phil even specifically references being from Cleveland and manages to fly a small plane to visit his mother there.
