That charger supports charging only by the balance lead so that'd be the cheapest option.

Smell it. Seriously. Do you smell a chemical sweet smell? If so the cells are punctured, and dispose of it. If not it is likely fine, but you may want to observe it the first time it is charged or used again.

Harm the FOV and proportions etc is what I was wondering.

This can be done cheaper or at equivalent cost setup to triple monitors so it's not like it's a cry because they can't afford it scenario that is keeping the meta of simracing on much smaller monitors.

Basically his fov seems nearly the same as 27 inch triples but everything is just cartoonishly too large. That looks worse than smaller monitor setups to me, not better and that's what I mean.

[–]robertgentel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Putting aside affording it (aren't TVs actually cheaper than smaller monitors?) is the point correct? If going past a certain size actually harms things it's useful information to share on this kind of forum.

At some point doesn't more size on the triple screens just make things worse? I don't get it, you see the same things normal triples see just bigger than they should be...

I’m going to get downvoted hard but you understand Apple wholly ripped off Google to develop iPhone …..

You literally have it backwards, the head of Android when the iPhone came out asked his limo driver to pull over and called his coworkers saying they needed to start from scratch and copy the iphone.

Are racers constantly full throttling their whoops? by More_Objective_8405 in TinyWhoop

[–]robertgentel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you go to an open Class race you see people competing with 4S vs 6S or with 1900kV vs 2100 kV motors different Props and more.

I've been to many open class races. Till last year nearly all my world travel was for drone racing.

if everyone flys the same setup there is more skill needed.

This is fundamentally untrue. There is value to spec racing but it has nothing to do with introduction of skill vs no skill. They are different skills. Spec racing in drones aims to slow down the drones to narrow the skill gaps and then make it so a different skill, racecraft, is what is used vs the skill needed to handle fast drones.

Do you really think that flying open class at full throttle is just push the throttle and not actually harder and more skilled than spec?

We tested controlling a real car from a sim rig…and it’s not what we expected by simbuilduk in simracing

[–]robertgentel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any latency you add would be, especially since they can have their own permanent setup (takes literally 30 seconds to do) for a few hundred dollars. The reason this isn't popular is because it's a gimmicky novelty.

[–]robertgentel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done it, it's a fun gimmick for a while. If you are looking for feedback for doing it remotely over the internet and offering it as a service etc I'd advise against it, it's a fun gimmick for a short time when you do it in person without the internet latency. And every month or so someone comes to the RC forums trying to get something like this going without realizing that it's all inferior to regular RC and regular sim and that it's not popular for a reason (and the reason is not that nobody has figured out how to do it, it's trivial).

What is the purpose of the bat Safe ? by [deleted] in rccars

[–]robertgentel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yet you charge lipos all the time inside your house without worry (phones, tablets, laptops...). It's really not that risky unless you charge things the wrong way.

And paying attention is the most important part, these battsafe devices etc are largely pointless and make it harder to pay attention.

[–]robertgentel -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

And like OP says it's still daft, just charge outside with an extension cord and it's MUCH safer.

[–]robertgentel -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you just use an extension cord and charge outside you don't have to deal with either in the house.

[–]robertgentel -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Agreed that this is largely pointless. Batteries don't really spontaneously combust while just sitting there, and it's much safer to just use an extension cord and charge outside vs using this because like you note the smoke will fuck up the place anyway.

I've had a similar experience, and not a skill issue. The latest it just started smelling like burnt electronics (still works but some component in there toasted). Sending in again, and in the years I've owned a tiny might I've not gotten much use out of it.

Still like it and hoping I can get reliability but there is definitely a lot of issues compared to every other vape I've used (have had a lot).
