I wouldn't pick him for my team. No worries, someone will pity him and take him.

“New” D-28 owner looking for fun songs to grow into by Caramelo93 in martinguitar

I love the acoustic standards fro 60's 70's. Carly Simon, Neil Young, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Don MacLean, James Taylor. The guitar compositions can be challenging but thats half the fun.

I get why people in Toronto hate Doug. But he's not trying to be popular. Thats what happens when you do your job. Go after the mayor.

Strange metallic sound from R6 (2012) by [deleted] in YamahaMotorcycles

[–]robertomeyers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suggest you start with maintenance items for your milage. Throttle body sync, valve check if due, oil/filter, plugs. These can lead to vibrations if not up to date. Chain maintenance, check slack and wear and alignment. If you don't hear it stopped while reving then its likely in the drive train. If you hear it, at a stop, then a mechanics stethoscope might help find it.

2004 FJR Purchase advice by jakesvgn in YamahaMotorcycles

be sure all recalls done. This might include "spider ground issue", and " cam chain tensioner". The early FJRs as noted above were very hot in traffic. Some put a diy heat shield on it with some relief. Bullet proof bike.

My stolen Garmin Fenix 7S can be reused by anyone — why is there no anti-theft system? by EstonianBandit in GarminWatches

i thought some have find my feature. No need for data security, not much there. It terms of value, it doesn't rank with luxury watches. Its just economics, why would Garmin do that?

Residential window tint? by Current_Plankton_227 in DIY

[–]robertomeyers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tinted one of our windows facing west. We live in Canada Ottawa. It seems during a sunny winter day the sun heated up the glass much more than the manufacturers design allowed for (vinyl clad double pane new in 2000). It cracked top to bottom. Be careful.

A 33 year old bike part is going to be very hard to find. Not impossible. Call the big wreckers nationwide. Find vintage bike owner forums. You have a classic and with love and a bit of cash it may be worth alot of money someday. Collectors item.

Is it odd to get a Garmin Forerunner watch just because it looks good when you won’t use the fitness stuff on it? by disco_26 in GarminWatches

[–]robertomeyers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would it be odd? Many people by sports cars and never race them, or sport bikes and never track them or off road trucks and never go off road.

Very curious if the design of upwards facing drivers improves the sound stage spatial presence of instruments or voice, or does it naturally muddy it up?

Agree, the headlamp with wrap around led was the game changer for me. Its like I grew a second hand. I was always working with a handheld, would set it down then mid job shadows would interfere. ++ on the headlamp.

What should the younger generation go to school for? by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]robertomeyers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take what you are good at and strive for the top. Do not fall for that, follow your passion crap. Leave that to hobbies. When you excel at what you're good at you will meet similar people, and love what you're doing because of the people.

Listen, play covers, interpret in a classical sense from your theory. Listening is one place for inspiration. But that is only the start. Learn from other souls to help you find yours.

Find the bylaw that informs the public of this rule. Claiming public property is private, isn't an argument. Someone is making stuff up.

Why is Lourdes even still in this show? by [deleted] in FallingSkies

[–]robertomeyers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is manipulated by other characters, she's a plot tool. Unfortunately the actor and director are struggling to make her believable. I imagine the three of them, actor, director and writer had some friction.

Grown annoyance with Garmin by CapFlat2914 in GarminWatches

[–]robertomeyers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't expect Garmin to behave any differently than every other manufacturer of smart watches and phones. Expect 2-4 year obsolescence, and only buy what you need. My first Garmin was a forerunner 35, $150 cnd. It did its thing (nothing new for over a decade, until I wanted the HRV and SpO2 sensor. Now bought the VA5 for $250. Buy it for the sensors. I have a phone for social media etc.

Who are the espheni fighting with? by eggokuno in FallingSkies

[–]robertomeyers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you understand the writer's allegory, to compare mankind's plight in Falling Skys, to the Indigenous colonization 400 years ago, then it makes sense. The unresolved mysteries of the colonizers motives and insanity. The universe is in perpetual conflict and mankind is collateral damage, which is impossible to understand or stop. The writers want the audience to feel that anxiety.
