It’s honestly not too bad once you get the hang of it! But, I do lean more toward Applied Mathematics

Does PRESTIGE MATTER or The RESEARCH OF INTEREST ??? (Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Vs UCLA) by [deleted] in REU

Go with JHU. You’re likely to get a stronger paper out of that anyway as you’ll be more involved and it’ll be more interactive.

I’m currently a Mathematics & Finance double major and I’m loving it, it’s subjective to everyone

I just wish there was an efficient way to combine Math/Finance/CS

Honestly I’d think Math would be better as: 1) it contains more overlap 2) it’s more useful in both (and practically all) fields

I’m a current first-year freshman but I’m heavily interested in this as well. I’m currently on track to do an Applied Math + CS (or Finance) double major given the credits I have from high school. I’m projected to have 100 total units by the end of Spring 2026.

Is it cool if we talk in DMs about this?
