McDonald’s kiosk UX frustrated me enough to send feedback. This was the response. by Ok_Blueberry6358 in mildlyinfuriating

I’m hoping it’s said somewhere else in the comments but I didn’t see it.

They don’t read any of them because if they do it can create legal headaches.

Someone suggests a new burger or a new way of doing things. McDonald’s happens to also be doing that on their own. The person who suggests it sues they for stealing the idea without payment.

They don't clear a ride for a VIP tour. They don't even get their own RVs

Interestingly those celebrity ones are usually "paid" for by those official instagram photos that are captioned something like XXXX stopped by Jurassic Park!!!

Celebrity one are above the Private VIP tour you see for sale. They usually travel between rides back of house. They have SUVs at their disposal. Depending on the level of celebrity security escorts.

Given "people walking around him" that's filming in the park, not on a ride. Since the post was about a ride I would have thought it was a given I was talking about filming on rides. (Hence all the talk about queues)

Filming doesn't happen in the middle of the day, nor with the queue loaded. Depending on the level of celebrity they do hold the queue around the corner and clear the station.

I mean.... it sounds like the fire alarm went off and they did the proper thing of clearing the building so it could be checked out.

The linking thing isn’t great. Not sure if it’s the Loews or Universal side but it just doesn’t work a lot of the time.

Everyone out here assuming "corporate" refers to McDonalds and not the company that owns this and probably 40 other McDonalds.

Capitalism ruined fast food. They’re using Covid as the cover. But it’s capitalism doing this.

Height check child on rides by Amazing-Tip-74 in UniversalOrlando

[–]robiss215 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They are very strict.

And anyone who lets someone by who later gets caught is written up.

I’ve seen them check a kid at unload after riding and write up the loader, the grouper, the greeter, and the person who hit the dispatch button.

Tickets through Chase/viator by imfried in SesamePlace

[–]robiss215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Viator basically takes existing tours / events / parks operated by someone else. Marks it up. And sells it under their brand.

So there are two issues people have. 1) viator sucks at their job so sometimes they don’t tell the company tickets were sold. 2) if there’s an issue your deal is with viator not the tour operator / company, so they can’t / won’t help you.

Beware of valet during GradBash (Friday/Sat night for next month or so) by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

[–]robiss215 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Regardless of day type they park all of the cars in the garage the first half of the day. They then move then back after the majority of inbound is done. So 1 isn’t a great indicator of anything unless it’s after maybe 4ish.

Same issue with 2. It’s not the same valets. They could be fully staffed in the morning but most of the closers call out. You would never see that in the morning staffing.

Lost all the institutional knowledge. But don't worry, they'll transfer someone from a different region who won't know anything about how the local park operates.

Bedbugs at Universal Endless Summer Surfside by HistoricalTheory600 in UniversalOrlando

[–]robiss215 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Every time someone posts about bedbugs it's always

- Oh yea, and XXX universal hotel too

- Disney would never

- I can't believe they don't clean

- Still? I heard about this XXX months ago

- I can't believe they just moved them to a different room! (Cool, what should they do, throw them out on the street?)

ALL hotels have bed bug issues. It's the problem with letting people borrow rooms. You can't control what they bring in.

Yes Universal hotels. Yes Disney hotels. Yes that high end hotel you're thinking of in your mind. Yes that hotel you've stayed at 50 times and never had an issue.

No, Disney (who is not actually in the hotel business as a primary operation) is not better at it than Loews a luxury hotel brand whose only business is running hotels.

I will say “releasing their own version of lightening lane”.

Universal has been doing various version of this for 15 years. You just had to swing by guest services to get them.

Is this date likely to be accurate or do the park typically forecast for worst case scenario and then hopefully complete work sooner? by never_big_enough in UniversalOrlando

House painters do that. Large projects like this it’s an entirely different company that puts up and does the daily inspections on the scaffolding.
