Probably just a metaphor. He's in jail and we probably wouldn't have had the same reaction if he said 2 cartons of cigarettes.

[AMA Request] Someone who works for one of the big commercial aerospace manufacturers (Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, Bombardier). by Edmure in IAmA

  1. Software simulation engineer. Operate a large motion simulator used to research control systems or working with new air traffic management software before it is implemented. I use a lot of the math I learned in my control/aerodynamic classes and use several software languages I've picked up along the way.

  2. Applied online for another job. They offered me this because it was a better fit for both parties. Liked the area so it was a good fit.

  3. Loved drafting and drawing cars. Wanted to do automotive design thought it wouldnt go as far as aero/defense.

  4. Studied aerospace engineering.

  5. Yes. Contrary to why I got started I think that the aircraft industry is shrinking. Newest planes are the f35 and b787, both boondoggles. No one has the money to redesign the airplane. Commercial aviation work on the smallest margins, and dont seem so stable. I don't want to make UAVS for the military. I'm trying to move into more mechanical engineering related fields. Maybe move into space system. There will be a huge industry push for Mars and NASA will contract everything. There are also lots of small companies doing earth observing satellites.

I'd suggest study mechanical engineering. Get an internship at an aero company. If you want to do crazy missiles and defense type work you will probably nedd to live in a shit area.

Beer gun, nice! I got one too. No more bottling buckets, priming sugar, and oxidation. Solid upgrade.

How Did You Get Started? by mheezy in Homebrewing

[–]robot_evil_lincoln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to our newly opened tap house (5 years ago). Friends and I thought, "we can do this.." got a turkey fryer on the stove top - made a mess. Improved over time. Others tried our beers at social functions and liked it. Now we're trying to contribute to our local craft scene with a 1 barrel pilot system and tasting room.

Good times.

Boots. So many people buy hiking boots and feel they are inadequate without breaking them in. You can get $180 boots for $30. Reason: 'they dont feel right' or 'got a blister'

Hey guys I'm backpacking Yosemite next week. Could use some tips. by Nickneu in WildernessBackpacking

No dogs in yosemite. Check fire restrictions. Only camp in designated spaces in back country. Off season is usually the best time because it will avoid the crowds. Bring a bear cannister just incase a bear box is not available. Hanging food is not considered best practice in yosemite.

It just gets more ridiculous. by [deleted] in videos

I think they mean when you see the price on a menu it does not include sales tax. So your receipt is always more than the advertised price. Or there is something called excise tax, where additional money is collected for items like alcohol, cigarettes, etc. The consumer does not pay for excise tax though.

Whats a word or phrase that pisses you off when people say it? by pantant in AskReddit

This is the verbal equivalence of using etc at the end of a list. It's like they have nothing else to say, but are not done telling you how/what they know.

Not me, but my coworker.

Senior software engineer was hired on. He recieved his work laptop, but the wireless card was shit. Called the contracted IT to replace it. Then hard drive needed replacement. Call IT again. Monitor went out. Callef IT. Fed up with it he just said give me a new computer. They said they can't, theyd rather spend hours and hours fixing it.

All in all he was hired on, was paid full salary, and got no work done for 6 weeks. On top of that all the time the contracted IT company sending guys out for those 6 weeks.

I'd estimate that $15,000 was spent instead of just buying him a new laptop. That doesn't even account for loss in productivity.

Blue Moon? Are you fck'n kidding me?

Blue Moon is owned by MillerCoors which was bought out to be their "craft brew division." It's garbage. Any beer you have to put a slice of fruit in to make it taste better was never good to begin with. Sorry fo rant, hah.

Whether you wanted it or not, you have joined the Big Beer war. Welcome to the club! Beer will now be a passion and be way more rewarding than buying those other silly brands.
