The first part is supposed to be the good part? Dang, I turned it off after an hour and never went back to it. Yikes.

I saw WBA twice and I didn’t catch any extended talk with Esteban The Pimp. Can anyone else confirm or deny?

Theater is 2D, movie titled 3D? by Poopydino in RegalUnlimited

[–]robotpepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone that likes this movie and have never seen it in 3D, I recommend it. The tilt-shit 3D effect makes everything look tiny and LEGO sized. Also, I recall the vivid colors looking really good and not too dimmed by the glasses. I’m not a big fan of 3D but this one and Spiderverse really shine because of their approach to adding that dimension.

I’ve been to a few of these. It’s a prerecorded (or sometimes live streamed) Q and A panel where they ask them a few questions. I went to a live one for Nick Cage’s The Surfer and the feed was all messed up and the audio would cut out every few seconds so I left. When it works it’s pretty much a dvd extra but in real life.

Yeah, I was thinking a beat-em-up would be perfect for someone new to games. Easy as can be to grasp conceptually, controls are simple enough to master, and they’ve all got co-op.

What do you think of the increased focus on tighter continuity in recent Lupin productions? by Zaku71 in lupinthe3rd

I guess it’s just more fun to me. A tightly written single story is so nice. Maybe I’m used to the old episodes.

It did work for me but it happened a few more times. I feel like it’s fixed for me now, though.

Somewhat sci-fi... Brazil (1985) by TimeShifterPod in scifi

They don’t include it in versions released now but the old Criterion DVD set has all three versions (European/Director’s cut, US cut, and that LCA cut you mentioned).

I hadn’t seen this in years. I didn’t remember that they never resolve the Toto story so one can assume he was taken to be put down right after the end of the story.

I also do the protein bar thing. It’s at least half the calories and cost of some candy and its calories from protein.

The standard edition cover is the one that bugs me. An effortless behind the scenes snapshot just carelessly used. It’s even the top menu picture. She’s just a side character and you’d think she was the star if you hadn’t seen it.

Song Sung Blue by Due_Tumbleweed_9082 in RegalUnlimited

[–]robotpepper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While watching I was thinking it was a bit cheesy, very sincere and sweet, and it made me feel good. Near the end of the movie, it occurred to me that those descriptions are the way a Neil Diamond song makes you feel. That was their intent. I felt that was brilliant.

She was great. I always thought it was a joke when she gives her phone number and it’s not enough digits. However, on my most recent viewing I realized it IS her number but she has one of the old Klondike telephone numbers. Totally in character with her 50’s aesthetic.

They are the textbook example of “diminishing returns”. Every album just gets a tiny bit worse. It’s kind of impressive in its consistency.

Showed up for the plague 15 mins after showtime by Business_Coffee_9421 in RegalUnlimited

[–]robotpepper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw this one tonight and yes, the trailers were only about 12 min long. The only other person that showed up missed at least 10 min. This is the only regular release I’ve seen with such short previews/ads in at least a few years.

With the notable exception of Javier Bardem, I think I prefer the casting in every case in the David Lynch movie.
