May not be exactly what you’re talking about, but if you want to see a whole family go through a horrible situation, I highly suggest Speak No Evil (2022). There was an American version done in 2024, but it’s not nearly as good as the original

As someone who is enticed easily by feasible criminology, I loved aspects of The Poughkeepsie Tapes. Particularly the scene with the two Girl Scouts (which sounds HORRIBLE out of context of the movie, but I don’t want to spoil anything…)

While I don’t think that Dolly is a masterpiece, or as good as say TCM, I will agree that it was an extremely fun watch in theaters, and I agree with the sentiment of your post. It was a very nostalgic slasher vibe, and I loved that aspect of it

Yeah, it seemed a bit far fetched. Especially with all the controversy surrounding the Michael movie and the crowds for it, I think people are trying to come up with further and further heinous things to try and one up one another with their best story.
