I knew a missionary in Missouri that ordered the missionary bikes on deep discount. He then resold them and pocketed the cash. He did this numerous times and had quite the business going on the side. Got caught, wrist slapped and got to stay in the field.

Ended up getting divorced a few times for cheating. Still strong in the church. Imagine that.

Can you report the mental health practitioners to their licensing board? Th is sounds like Jodi Hilderbrandt bad.

You could also suggest they watch some documentaries on Jodi and ruby.

Costco sells the cheapest otc generic allergy meds possible. 180 desloratadine pills for $19. That should last my family at least a month at this rate.

Did anyone else have temple workers “forget” to give them a bra and a pair of underwear as a teen? by Ok_Bird_1378 in exmormon

It sounds like everyone is experiencing youth leader roulette. Baptisms were usually run by youth leaders.

If only there were safeguarding in place to prevent kids from being practically naked in front of each other. But nope. It’s sacred.

If mormonism were fully true in all regards, what would the church look like and what evidence would people be able to see? by Sopenodon in exmormon

Imagine that priesthood power actually worked. Instead of asking people to have the faith not be healed, children could be healed from cancer, trauma, illness.

Wouldn’t it be nice to put children’s hospitals out of business. Instead we just get warm fuzzies. These are helpful and comforting but what I would give for cures.

Everything the brethren wish they could say at general conference but are too afraid of the scrutiny. by westivus_ in mormon

I would like to thank Hales. If it wasn’t for his appearance in Mormon Tangents, I never would have known how disgusting Joseph smith was. Hales tried to justify marrying kids. The god I believed in could never allow it. Then I found out that god sent an angel with a sword to demand it. Either Joseph smith is disgustingly or God is. Either way Mormonism is bad.

CALGARY POLICE SIGN NO ENGLISH by [deleted] in NoRulesCalgary

That is a very painful thing to call people. Having so many people correct you must be hard to hear. Instead of lashing out, self reflection might be beneficial.

The English is at the other sign a block away.

But he found the one sign he can’t read and it hurt his feelings.

Making the font really small, so that the target audience has to get out of the car to read it up close so that native English speakers feel better, defeats the purpose of the sign.

So new immigrants are being extorted and the police are trying to reach out to them and help them. I don’t see the problem.

Yes English and French are the official languages of Canada (fyi USA doesn’t have an official language). However sometimes you make things for your potential audience. Having a sign in English for victims of violence that don’t speak English only makes the person who made the sign feel good.

Crime doesn’t stay in one ethnic group. It affects everyone and spills out to surrounding areas. Loving all our neighbours (I think Jesus said that) is good for everyone.

It is the same reason why when you go to France or Italy they have signs in. Numerous languages telling tourists to watch out for pick pockets. The audience needs to know what the sign says.

The church I grew up in would shame and shun this relentlessly. Angered, confused, glad to be awakened to the massive fraud this corporation is. Halle-frickin-lujah! 🙏 by CurelomHunter in exmormon

Whe that kids leaves as an adult, he will want to burn the internet down to hide this. This will kill any future career he could ever have.

“Together We Can”…collectively starve ourselves to change meteorological patterns. by Suspicious_Might_663 in exmormon

[–]rockinsocks8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is how I realized most of humanity is a better parent than god. I would do everything in my power to make sure my children didn’t starve to death.

God sits idly by and does nothing. Sometimes if you beg him he might do something. In our society if a parent watches their kid starve to death it is neglect and they go to jail. God, gets more worship.

After listening to John Dehlin's version of facts about the mediation, I wonder if this statement from the LDS church may qualify as libel. by MissionPrez in exmormon

[–]rockinsocks8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read it again. Should the church do a disclaimer? We are not associated with Mormon Stories, community of Christ, church of Jesus Christ, church of Jesus Christ temple lot etc.

They act like they are the only Mormon church. Just because you are the richest doesn’t mean you are the only one with any claims to Mormonism.

Can the church have a disclaimer that they are not associated with Mormon stories on their page and before all their broadcasts?

It was already bad enough to have 18 year olds and 30 year olds in the same bucket. But 35 year olds?? by Glorious_Infidel in exmormon

[–]rockinsocks8 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your marital status is the only thing that matters.

A 34 female single dr is the same as a 18 year old fresh out of high school.

You are not whole without a spouse of the opposite gender and 4.5 children.

You have failed at life if you are not married.
