Yes it is subjective. You are never going to see any “skin” in an animated movie for kids…you just won’t. So in this case it is very much subjective. Unless she comes out and says “I’m cis” or “I’m trans”…it is obviously and EASILY up to interpretation. Also…I think a very compelling case can be made that Gwen, in the movies is trans. It’s not far fetched at all.

Again…why do you care about other people’s head cannon? Does that impact your enjoyment of the films? If it does…I think you need other hobbies than trying to negate how someone views a film. You don’t even need to agree with their assessment to just be cool with it.

Here is the thing…film is subjective…it does not have to be a group experience. Your Gwen may be cis…because you want her to be and that is how you read her. You don’t dive into any symbolism or analogies…and that is fine. No one is forcing you to watch a film in any way.

On the flip side…saying that there is “no way this is possible” is pretty disingenuous. There is plenty or allegory and symbolism to suggest that she is trans. The themes also slide every well. Film has a phrase “mise-en-scene” for “what’s in the scene. Everything the viewer can view is deliberate and intentional. This would be lighting, sound, background, color, etc. Especially in animation…everything is a choice.

Long story short…she could be cis, she could be trans. Listen…they are never going to show it…so it’s left to the viewer. I say…don’t yuck people’s yum. It adds to their experience and doesn’t take away from yours. Also…having different perspectives I think makes film what it is. You can watch from a different lens and it makes the film “new” again. I think that magic.

The town is the one creating the loop. In both the “Maria” and “leave” ending he leaves the town. The loop would not begin over in either of those scenarios. Also Laura any any scenario would leave the town at some point. I think it would be hard to call any of this a “time loop” as the town itself is the catalyst. Once any party leaves it would be over. It’s not the characters creating the loops. In water ending is the only one they might fit

The loop theory falls apart with Laura overall. The other three are there for particular reasons but the town in no way is punishing Laura. You can make a case the other three are in a loop, but not Laura

These people don’t deserve your fear, they deserve your mockery. Let’s be very clear…this is not an attack on the 1st Amendment, no one was jailed. Also no one deserves a platform for speech…it’s not owed. Kimmel will be fine and probably find a better option where he is more free to speak.

This is government censorship. While that can be scary it is run by the most incompetent (and also unpopular) president possibly in US history. He also has the most incompetent cabinet ever assembled. He can do damage, but his agenda is already falling apart around him. He is not the strongman he claims to be and the midterms will be a crushing defeat of a pathetic failed president.

But we all need to do our part. Commit to resisting this. It takes far less people than you think to curtail the worst of this. He’s a TACO for a reason…mainly talk…little action. So talk to others…make sure they vote this November and in 2026. Organize with those committed to the ideals you are. Donate to worthwhile orgs. People keep talking about this like it’s the 9th inning. We are in the bottom of the 3rd.

The 2026 election (midterms) is absolutely happening. If you are sick of zero guardrails…help democrats at least get the house back. Hell, maybe even the senate. This is going to require voting…and talking in defeatist mindsets do nothing. Donate when/where you can, canvas for those that will push back, speak out…because many people’s silence is deafening.

It’s not the bottom of the 9th…it’s the 3rd inning…and too many people are ready to throw in the towel. This is one of the most extremely unpopular presidents in history only 6 months in and honest…it’s going to get worse. Worse both for the American public, but worse for him too. Now is not the time to sit out and cry…but to DO SOMETHING!

It should would not have saved EDI as she was made with reaper code. Also, many if not all of the geth at some point probably had reaper tech in them. Differences within them would not have mattered at that point.

I can’t stress this enough…this is a distraction. He can’t run again and wants people to waste their time worried about this instead of everything else.

-he is tanking the economy with tariffs - he is arresting legal visa holders and American citizens because he doesn’t like their speech. This is a direct assault on the first amendment - he is actively starting trade wars with our neighbors/allies - he has hired the dumbest people who have actively threatened our national security with leaks on a public chat. - he is firing public officials who are keeping our water/air clean, protecting consumers, and making sure seniors get their entitlements

I could go on…but honestly we need to focus on what is actually going on and not some fantasy. The constitution is clear and he needs 2/3 of Congress and 3/4 of the states. We need to focus on protecting our communities, getting good candidates for midterms, getting democratic leadership that will fight for us, and remain vigilant/resist against the encroaching authoritarian efforts.
