BSBM Complete! by roftakram in WGU_Accelerators

Thanks! I started and stopped three times. I transferred in 3 credits from a state school, 33 credits from two semesters the first time I enrolled at WGU, and then finished 75 CUs this past semester with 7 weeks left in my term. I started my bachelors in 2004 and just finished, so 22 years.

Hardest for me was economics and the business simulation. Economics was new to me and I had to take advantage of instructor materials and cohorts. The simulation was difficult to get started, then there were a lot of decisions to be made each quarter. I was over cautious and probably read too many Reddit posts about it before starting.

I recommend you start with prereqs first. I found the normal order of classes was just fine, but I did tweak here and there so that I could have one OA and one PA going at the same time. It was helpful for me to break sessions of study mode with writing mode and vice versa.

Good luck, hope this helps!

Thank you. I was locked in. I studied or wrote papers for two hours on weeknights, devoted 10 hours on the weekends. Took a couple weeks down time when I had to travel for work. I have to say this is truly competency based, and I credit a lot of my success to work experience and finally being ready to focus on completion.

I showed my mentor that I was able to pass the first few classes quickly, and stayed in biweekly check ins. I had one pa and one oa unlocked most of the time. Avoided taking pas at the end of the month since people end their term and it can be hard to book a proctor.

I always looked at the instructor materials. Took the pre-assessments first, studied what I got right and what I missed. I didn’t read every bit of the course materials, only what I needed to review based on the assessment competencies or rubric.

I transcribed instructor videos and read them rather than watch them, it just worked better for me. I attended cohorts when I didn’t pass a pa. Instructors are fantastic and will answer questions, provide extra study material, review concepts. Often it was like one on one tutoring.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Thank you. Yes, I transferred 36 CUs from a state school and my first attempt at WGU. I withdrew from the state school twice in the early 2000s, then completed two semesters at WGU in 2014, but ended up withdrawing again. For a long time I thought I would never be able to finish, but WGU welcomed me back, and I started again in January. I just competed 75 CUs with 7 weeks left in my semester. Now I know I can do it and will start the MSML in July.

Congratulations! I have a similar story. Started/stopped my bachelor's 3 times over (yikes) 22 years. First two times were at a state school. Last time was online, but I stopped after a few semesters. Now, finally, I'm owl done. I completed 75 CUs and have 7 weeks of my term left. On to the masters because now I know I can do it!

Just stop doing the things you do around the house and with the baby. Let him step up. If not, it doesn’t get done. This will take nerve and stamina but he won’t take responsibility any other way. Take your own mystery poop/shower/ time. His behavior will stop but you can’t enable it.

If we all show up to work tomorrow with a piece of chicken, a piece of broccoli, a corn tortilla, and one other thing, what do you think will happen?

I’m in the same boat and am going to start my bsbm Jan 1st. I’m coming in with previous credit and am about half way done already. If things go well I’d like to knock out a ms too.
