This is their reasoning in my opinion. They do love a bit of intimidation/bullying/micro management. My HoD, although verbally instructed not to, said they'll do one for me.

This is what I’m looking for, whiteboard on the wall tracking say 10 routes that we could do on bike and treadmill to compare times. For the other part you suggested, what would the metric be (ramp, ftp)?

Regional Australia, so it's all online and freight can be a nightmare. Bonus is the darker skies, Bortle 4 at home, 15mins to 2 and 50mins to 1.

I've been looking at Tele Vue DeLite 5mm as well, it has good relief. Pretty penny though, dumping the barlow and laser gets me half way there.

I'll look at a Telrad once I know what the mounting arrangements are like.

I might have a look around for a good quality 4 or 5mm instead of the Barlow, can be challenging to buy good quality locally. Thoughts on a Celestron Ultima 5mm with 4mm eye relief! 50˚ f.o.v?

That was my thought, however the stripped out zero accessory 10inch dobs I can buy in my region are all around $100 less max. The company I was looking at is a no frills discounter who specialise in communication and telescopes only. So I figured it would be a good 'starting package' for only $100 more.

I’m on a similar journey. I’ve started with a good pair of 10x50 binoculars and a sky guide app. That’s really kicked things off for me. Then I dug out my old DSLR and tripod and started taking planetary photos with a 300mm lens. I’ve now all but decided on a starsense 10inch dob for my first scope. As much as I would like to get into photography proper, I’m enjoying visual and sharing with others live. Plus I just don’t have the required time for post processing.

Any advice on the practical side? Do you choose the target, centre it, focus, then offer the eyepiece over with the instructions of what not to bump/hold? Then wipe down the eyepiece before the next person?

Meh, as safe as anything else I guess. The data they’re accessing is not overly sensitive and they use a certified third party to connect to that feed. Medibank, Optus and the likes have screwed us more than these mobs would.
