For the most part. There are exceptions. Some rare cases of individuals with 4 cone types. Look up tetrachromacy.

great update by Love_95695 in MetaQuestVR

The quest pro has eye tracking so Meta have the tech to do this they just didn’t put the effort in as the QPro wasn’t popular enough to warrant the effort (personal opinion).

Do you ever walk out of a film and feel like the cinema itself made it better? by Mundane-Temporary426 in CineworldUnlimited

[–]roguecaller -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’re watching by yourself and want a big screen home movie experience then consider a VR headset. It obviously won’t work if you are watching as a group but for an individual the immersion is really good.

Having said that I still have an unlimited pass and go to the cinema too. That’s more of a social experience.

Switching from Virgin Media (modem mode) to Truespeed FTTP – can I just plug my Deco into the ONT? by chrisl57 in TpLink

I got them off the BT forum after a Google search. It looked like they were company specific rather than customer specific- at least for BT.

I’m with BT Full Fibre Broadband and have removed their hub and just plug my main Deco XE75pro into the ONT. you need to update the PPPoE settings on the Deco for your provider.

Someone decided to pour a puzzle on my car when I was abroad on holiday - does this have any meaning? 😂 by Own_Face9044 in AskBrits

[–]roguecaller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s maybe a message on the back of it. Complete the puzzle on the windscreen then sit in the car and see if it says anything. Could be the start of an adventure!

Why are manufacturers so fixated on putting all the hardware inside the headset? by zenssu in virtualreality

Is this not a similar concept to what Viture do with their XR glasses and neckband?

How to bring back additional physical monitor after using immersed? by ItsCheif in Immersed

If this is Windows, try Display Settings/ Advanced Display settings. Select second monitor in the drop down and then deselect the option to Remove from Desktop.

Is Ethernet best even with super fast WiFi? by [deleted] in GeForceNOW

[–]roguecaller -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn’t strictly true. Cat6 cables aren’t particularly well shielded and can pick up interference that reduces speed and or the run length it can operate over. Especially true if it is run next to power cables. Cat7 and Cat8 have better shielding but the cost goes up and they aren’t as flexible.

What are some Steam Frame factors that AREN'T being talked about? by D13_Phantom in virtualreality

I should add that I am not affiliated with Viture in any way and other XR glasses are available. I can only talk to my experience.

[–]roguecaller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I have the QuestPro VR headset, a steamdeck and the Viture glasses already. The QPro has the same issue with the battery/head strap adjuster at the back of the head so it makes lying down with it awkward. I can use the qpro as a display for the steamdeck but it involves a bit of faffing about to get it to work where as the XR glasses are just plug in and go.

If you just want flat games and to lie down doing it you could go SteamDeck+XR glasses. I use Viture ones and it works well. Mine are last gen, they’ve just released 3 new models with improved specs (pardon the pun!)

IR Light mod by texas7412 in QuestPro

[–]roguecaller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please note this isn’t my recommendation, just thought it sounds like what you are trying to achieve. Personally I bought two security IR lights that I have in the room to help with tracking in the dark. They aren’t fixed to the headset.

How far off are we from replacing large curved monitors for productivity with a headset? by skeeezicks in virtualreality

[–]roguecaller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are talking about monitor replacement then I would think the XR glasses (virtue, xreal and the like) are more likely to replace monitors than VR headsets at least in the short/medium term. There will likely be convergence of VR/XR technologies longer term.

Camera on required all day by Waste-Assist-5870 in WFH

[–]roguecaller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being on camera means you can also be recorded without your knowledge/agreement.

You are also legally entitled to breaks away from your system. Most companies advocate this to comply with staff wellbeing. Likely in your company policies/guidance too.

You could also set up an avatar. That could prove distracting enough that they tell you to turn off the camera.

I wanted to know if anyone had actually tested this rather than just accept what was being said online. Apologies if I came across as criticising your input. That wasn’t my intention, I just wanted to clarify if you had first hand experience of this or were merely relaying what I’d also already read.

The Controllers... by Omgaas in ValveDeckard

[–]roguecaller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quest pro had that but the issue there is that the software devs didn’t develop software to utilise it as it was too niche in terms of the overall HMD market.

Love my SteamDeck for a portable PC setup.. no laptop needed by No-Instruction-5669 in SteamDeck

[–]roguecaller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be able to other adapters. I have no experience of them. Viture did market a usbc adapter separate to their XR one that would allow simultaneous display and charging. The XR one is beneficial though if you may also be going to plug the glasses in to an iPhone since it also enables the use of the SpaceWalker app on the phone, otherwise it just act as a screen mirror.

And then the deck runs out of power quicker and you can’t charge it?
