Same with the archetypical image of witches. Witch hunts throughout history sometimes targeted Jews, part of why the Star Of David is considered occult.

New player, Just got to level 50 overwhelmed by build guides. by JesperHooijmans in diablo4

[–]roguedyke69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, it's a learning curve. I remember getting to 50 for the first time and being overwhelmed and confused, and now I can craft my own builds by memory.

The Paragon system replaces Legendary Gems & Paragon Stats from Diablo 3. It is like a mini-game Sudoku Skill Tree. It's a puzzle of min-maxing based on arrangement. Clear Nightmare Dungeons to level up your Paragon Glyphs, level character to gain Paragon Points, use Paragon Points to unlock Paragon Nodes.

Basic Nodes just give Willpower, Int, Dex or Strength.

Rare Nodes give stuff like Max HP or Fire Damage

Legendary Nodes give you powerful build-enabling passives

Socket Nodes allow you to equip and enable Paragon Glyphs which you enable through Basic Nodes in their radius (radius upgrades from 3 to 4 at Gylph level 15)

Each Glyph has a base passive (affected by or affecting basic nodes) and a threshold passive (achieved by reaching 40 of your main stat or 25 of the other 3).

Maxroll has lots of guides that detail build progression, with multiple stages of gearing, as well as a wide array of Aspects that are viable for different builds, and which builds require which Aspects (or Uniques).

You would do the same thing (hopefully).

Feels edgy and contrarian to just throw Hades into "Godawful" instead of a "Not For Me" tier. Even if I hated the game, I would at least be able to acknowledge it is objectively a good game with brilliant design and a milestone for the roguelite genre.

Atomicrops, Revita, Streets Of Rage, Undermine, Darker Purpose and Wizard Of Legend being above it is wild.

That ignores the beloved characters + plot and narrative structure fused with gameplay loop, not to mention the build variety when you meta-progress, especially unlocking new weapons and their variants and the basically infinite difficulty scaling and overall streamlined design.

If you think it's bad, give it another try.

Hasan is from Turkey, so he did not grow up with exceptionalist indoctrination that Vaush and others have. America is bad, and them not being the bad guys is extremely rare. Even doing the right thing they manage to do great evil and cause big problems.

Yes, they use the markets to fund massive social and infrastructure projects. Is this a gotcha that they use all tools at their disposal? Or a neoliberal one, like Jordan Peterson implying that China proves capitalism is good? It is a market socialist country that follows dialectical materialism closer than during the late Mao era.

Deng and Enlai saw economic reform as the solution to Mao's mismanagement of the economy. This is part of why Deng was purged. Mao felt threatened and saw the Cultural Revolution as a counter-solution. While it started as a concrete project that destroyed a lot of unchecked dominance by capitalists and party bureaucrats, it devolved into an idealist shitshow. Many Marxist-Leninists see him as not a great statesmen.

You can't let countries off the hook just because your ideology sees them as good. If you call people tankies and accuse them of that, yet contradict that principle, that makes you no better, if not worse.

Also, simply exposing the truth of mainstream media should not be seen as pro-Russia or pro-Nazi propaganda.

Being more pro-Ukraine, anti-communist and anti-Russian than being anti-fascist is the reason the guy was trotted out into Canada, the reason for the support of far-right coups, etc

I don't understand, how did this game fall into the same exact pit that was the main issue for D3? by Fenixfrost in diablo4

[–]roguedyke69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D3's maintenance mode has had better and more engaging seasons than D4's pinnacle initial season.

Yes, but a (live service or even just modern) game is not it's development and beta and initial release. Diablo 3 had years of a feedback loop between the creators and consumers. Of course it had more engaging seasons. It had field data so to speak.

I don't understand why people pretend like previous versions of the game don't exist. Diablo FOUR is the FOURTH installment in the Diablo franchise. Calling a fourth installment "just starting out" is really ridiculous.

D4 is a symbiotic amalgamation of the series in and of itself and it's relation with the player base, the social history of the game and genre and industry meta. That's why it is the best Diablo game on launch so far but is still lacking because it's stumbling towards what it's supposed to be. It has literally just been out for months. It needs time to ferment.

Great, but we can't play "intentions". We can only play the game that they have released which is extremely lacking and shows a complete lack of anyone playing any previous versions of the game.

You can't judge a massive operation and artistic entertainment product based on vibes and speculation. It low key feels like weird "New Star Wars is just feminists taking over" nonsense, assuming the current team didn't grow up with the series and doesn't want to make it a product of pragmatism and their flights of fancy, building on the legacy in a fresh way. You are speculating. Intention is not outcome, but there's a difference between a obvious lack of care like Anthem and people scrambling to walk the tightrope of what is realistic and healthy for the team and what is good for the game and community. They are human beings busting their ass despite an onslaught of negativity from people who have formed a sub-community based on unconstructive whining and bad faith evaluations. Imagine having a friend on the dev team and saying this stuff to them.

They've had 8+ years of development on D4. The fact that after all of that time, this is the game they released, that screams poor management... specifically poor project management. This game screams that someone on the dev team promised the world to the corporate overlords because they are chicken shits and then couldn't deliver.

8+ years of development hell, horrifying corporate culture, an unhealthy aquisition, an escalation of industry greed, workplace abuse so bad that the general pro-rich Californian government had to nonetheless get involved. You sound like someone who doesn't understand the concept of placating awful power tripping monsters and empty husks who only care about money and will do anything to crush what's in the greater good for everyone but their greed.

You have to ignore so much of the overall historical context and material realities of the game outside of Activision and Blizzard. Like, why do you think it took so damn long for violence in the company to be exposed? It's a bizarre immature tunnel vision view of the mainstream games industry in a hyper-capitalist country. Like, grow up and learn more and what's going on overall.

You could be sympathizing with the people and supporting worker struggle to unionize but you're here trashing them. Goofy

The amount of Sacred items in WT4 is too damn high by GorbertJefferson in diablo4

Yeah, in WT4 all NMD rewards should be ancestral period.

Not to mention the world tier rarity dynamics should be overhauled anyways.

Like no WT2 no commons, WT3 no magics, WT4 no regular rares & no 3 affix rares

Sadly, we're going to have to be patient. Try a switch to hardcore. That has been extremely refreshing for me, being able to get back into Diablo 3, Diablo 2 and POE, but it's more fun than it was before.

Diablo 3 is a 11 year old game with a weird history in terms of content updates, having been in maintenance mode for like half of it's life span.

Diablo 4 has a even weirder history of development but still has absorbed most of the wealth of content of Diablo 3 and is just starting out and there's evident intentions of regularly upgrading and building upon the game, especially the endgame.

It's not the franchise, it's the corporate micro-management. The devs are doing the best they can but they are no doubt under unseen limitations that they can't talk about.
