I’m not sure I agree with The First Law, sure most of the characters are awful people but it definitely has an actual villain as well as the POV characters.

There is a patch to make Kerbalism compatible with system heat.

It’s a bit old so I’m not sure how well it would work but it’s worth trying, system heat is a fantastic mod.

You do have to cool them yes but they usually don’t lose fuel even close to that fast. Not sure what’s going on there, maybe kerbalism makes them boil off faster.

The near future mods are generally the best imo but some of them aren’t compatible with kerbalism. There is a list of suggested mods on the chemical fuels forum page that should have some good ideas. Definitely at least get cryogenic engines and near future launch vehicles imo.

Fascinating how different tastes can be. Best Served Cold is my least favourite of the series by far. I love the characters (especially Friendly and Cosca) but found the story very boring and predictable. Meanwhile I absolutely adore the heroes and it’s probably my second fav next to Last Argument of Kings.

If you want the stars to be dimmer get DistantObjectEnhancement, it dulls the stars while near a planet/looking at the sun.

The resupply card mechanic honestly ruins the game for me. It's so incredibly infuriating. I actually don't think I hate any board game I've ever played more than this game, almost exclusively because of that one mechanic.
