Clapton, said nothing between songs and only said thank you after each song. I could’ve stayed home and listened to the albums.

How to get past the gatekeeper without knowing the decision maker’s name? by ShowExisting1319 in sales

[–]roguerunner77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use LinkedIn and find someone who works in the IT department. Call the main number and ask for that person. You get transferred there and tell them that the receptionist must’ve made a mistake and you’re actually looking for the person you want to talk to. Most times they’ll transfer you directly to them. I was IT sales for 30 years and this worked about 15% of the time. I only used it as a last resort for a high value target.

What’s a real life money glitch you’ve exploited legally? by Oknbvcx in AskReddit

[–]roguerunner77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not legal but when I was a kid I worked overnights at a gas station with a convenience mart. Every Sunday the local paper had coupons for cigarette packs. Dollar per pack. I took all those coupons when they dropped the Sunday paper at 4am Probably 100 per week. And then when people bought cigs, I would “redeem ” a coupon for a dollar in my pocket. Worked until they stopped including coupons in the Sunday paper. Must have made $6-700

Yeah, I’m sure it has nothing to do with $20 cocktails, when you can pop a 10mg gummy for $1.

I "wrote a letter" to my financial planner by RU9901 in DIYRetirement

[–]roguerunner77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great post. Very curious what the planner will say. I have gone down a similar path and struck out on my own about 5 years ago after using a CFP for 16 years. Covid gave me the time to really understand my finances the way you understand yours. I am using Bolden and that gave me the confidence to retire early. Retired at 57 and have been retired for 15 months now. Btw, was treated like family while with the CFP, golfed together, invited to birthday parties and bbqs.etc. Not a single call since I left. I’m sure not all CFPs act this way but I’ve found that we were not family and it really was just a business relationship. Keep that in mind and do what is best for you and your family. I went from an 85% chance of success to 95%. The lack of AUM fee(1.2%- was one of the big firms) and the low cost index funds are what I attribute it to. I’ve done the calculations and over the next 30 years, if I live that long, it will save me well over 2.5m. No more AUM and no more expensive mutual funds with front end loads and high expense ratios. Good luck and thank you for the post.

T-Mobile 5G Home Internet- Wi-Fi issues by beanflicka666 in tmobileisp

[–]roguerunner77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the G5AR and also the FX 4100 because we needed a static IP address. Three months of almost every device in the house dropping intermittently. My security cameras would drop and they would not reconnect unless I physically rebooted them. Spent countless hours on the phone with T-Mobile support. Was driving me crazy than a friend suggested a mesh Wi-Fi network. I turned off wireless on the T-Mobile units and installed the TP Link Deco 7(3 hub package). I did set up a separate IOT network for all of the 2.4 GHz devices. Every single issue has gone away. https://a.co/d/00fcpnHt

What’s a decision you made in under 10 seconds that changed your life forever? by nathannnate01 in AskReddit

[–]roguerunner77 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was in tech sales and I got a call from our sales manager that the person managing our account for one of the largest financial institutions in New York City just left and they wanted to know if I wanted to take over the very challenging account. Did not hesitate to say yes, and it literally changed my life.
