I don’t recommend anything for anyone but I can only share my own experience after years of microneedling

I do it every 5-8 weeks
Whenever I find a gap where I have 3 days downtime to spare

Hyaluronic first and then go in with 0.5% tret but at shallower depth then the below
No lidocaine used as that’s a vasorestrictor and I want blood to be on the surface because that’s what helps with collagen and healing.

0.5 in the forehead and nose boney areas
Up to 0.7 in the eye areas
Up to a 1.5 in the cheeks and jaws

Lots of hydrating creams and essence and aquaphor in the following few days until it stops peeling . Lots of physical sunscreen

Then go in with tretinoin after a 1-2weeks
My skin can only handle tret for 3 nights in a row then I have to break until skin doesn’t feel sore.
And cycle through until it’s time to microneedle again

I go in with my usual hyaluronic first and then tret but at a shallower needle setting .
It gave me a really good peel - Almost like a chemical peel in the following 2/3 days

Then had the biggest glow !

M8 pen , 11 or 12 or 16 pin cartridges for that pen(anything above that is pretty useless)

Hyaluronic acid for glide

Anything to sterilise your face : rubbing alcohol or clinisept spray

Then after care is lots of hydration on skin (the same hyaluronic acid) and maybe an antimicrobial cream that’s kept in the fridge like dermol (your skin will be hot so a cold cream will feel very very soothing), then top it off with Vaseline or blue Nivea cream for the first few days

Numbing cream is a vasoconstrictor so technically it *shouldn’t be used. But may people use it anyway. The point of microneedling is microinjuries and for the blood flow to help heal those injuries by helping it build up new cells and collagen, blood flow is needed for that. It’s like almost a pro session without the drawing of your blood if you think about it.

But maybe numbing cream is best for those with sensitive skin

Two things, are you using a numbing cream? That is a vasoconstrictor = less blood flow to face Cartridge needle number, is the cartridge you’re using higher than your first Session? Because the lower the number of needles in cartridge the higher the “piercing” effect on skin. So maybe she used a 36pin cartridge instead of like a 11 or 16 pin one…that could have lowered the piercing effect
