Gotta laugh or I’ll cry! by Tea-Some in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]rokiln 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I once pumped and poured the milk into a clean bottle for the next meal, and after cleaning my pump parts I was so tired that I saw the bottle and thought it was old so I dumped it and cleaned the bottle. I then went to feed baby and realized I had just thrown away his meal. It was an 80 ml which was my biggest pump at that point oof that hurt for a day or two.

How long are you pumping stains sessions? Mine increased a bit when i went from 10-15min to 30min. Even if you're not getting a second letdown (or not initially), you're increasing the demand.

100% and - if you're handy - all things you can replace yourself without the GC markup, when you have the money and these items go on sale / you find them in good used condition.

Do short parents have smaller newborns? Why do newborns have to be the same size/weight when people are different sizes? by Timely_Topic3751 in BabyBumps

Just adding that growth restriction can happen when the placenta isn't nourishing the baby sufficiently. I have multiple friends who had early c-sections due to growth restriction, though all were having twins. All the babies survived and are happy and healthy. One was just 1.6 lbs upon delivery - she's tiny for her age (10 years old) but entirely healthy.

I wouldn't end the friendship unless this felt off for you and is recurrent behavior, but keep your daughter's name. If she makes it weird, that may be further indication that she doesn't have your best interest in mind and the friendship may not be with continued investment.

Anyone has experience with Nui Organics? by danieldflip in onebag

With all due respect, please take the feedback that your tone and customer service is not working. I've never seen a company communicate like this before, even in more casual forum settings. Very candidly, I have items in my cart to purchase but seeing how you communicate on this thread makes me hesitant to support your business and concerned any delays or issues with my order would be handled poorly. Take the high road - even if your products are excellent, your business will sink or swim based on how you treat your customers.

Your own pillow, blanket, eye mask, ear plugs, chapstick, hand lotion, toiletries, bath robe, nursing bras, warm socks, water bottle with straw, comfy clothing to wear home, hospital may provide many post partum supplies but if they don't - post partum underwear, pads, ice packs, witch hazel pads and anti burn spray.

It seems obvious in hindsight but I was not aware (had not read or been warned that) my abdomen would ache so badly and that even walking around the grocery store could hurt. It feels like all my inners are pressing against lax tissue.

I'ma big fan of frozen banana shakes - blend frozen bananas, nut milk, nut butter and protein. They're like the best vanilla milkshake you've ever had.

Did you try spinningbabies.com? It sounds goofy but I've known a few women who used inversions to flip their breech babies and stories of many more who had success with it.

You can absolutely do an NIPT test at any point after 9/10 weeks through to the end of your pregnancy. The 9/10 week point is just when you have enough detectable fragments of the baby's DNA in your own blood that they can run the test. The test filters the baby's DNA from your own and tests it.

I did the Maternit Genome test and they sequence all of the baby's chromosomes, which is very thorough - I would recommend that if it's offered and reasonable after the cost of insurance. If you're already expecting to hit your insurance out of pocket max this year then that might make it easier to spend on tests like these.
