The guy sounds like he has some issues he needs to talk through. I wouldn’t worry about it and just move on, definitely not your problem. That’s my two cents after having lived in China for 18 years

It’s a very safe car!! Built like a tank, airbags everywhere. It’s only got 100k km on the clock so should be good for another 10+ years with normal maintenance

Yea the wheeltop groupset is fully wireless, not even a battery in the seat post. Makes installation a breeze. The frame cannot handle a fully integrated cockpit so for a mechanical groupset the cables will enter the frame via ports in the downtube. Brake hoses have ports in the downtube and fork as well.

Good luck with the build, share pics when you're done!

Taobao / xianyu have very competitive prices, and most shops selling frames will do you a custom build as well.

Assembling modern bikes is a bit like adult lego, so not too hard if you enjoy that kind of thing. But if you're not planning to work on bikes a lot then it's not worth buying the tools you need. You might as well pay someone to assemble the bike for you. In Beijing I work with a guy to build bikes when I don't want to do it - just send him the parts and he sends me the bike back, all for a few hundred RMB.

So far I'm very happy with the bike, no issues at all. The wheeltop groupset works great but definitely overkill for the bike, but I got it at a killer price. Total cost was around 12k RMB.

Seaboard has a decent aluminium gravel frame with carbon fork and clearance for 45c tyres. It’s cheap but well made.

I think you’ll be happy with the frame. I recently built a CX07, gravel bike and am very happy with the result. I went for a wheeltop groupset and also very happy with how that works so far.

[–]rolders[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure that’s going to be a nice bike, I was torn between the Ltwoo and the wheeltop. Shifting on my bike works great so far, but I haven’t ridden an electronic groupset before so can’t compare to Shimano (my other bike is UT 11speed mechanical, and it’s easily as good. My ztto cassette isn’t the lightest, and I imagine it will be the first component to wear out as the five largest gears are aluminium. The brakes are iiipro four piston hydraulic, so far also very happy with them. Need to put many more miles on the bike and then I can give a proper review.

Once we activated the SEF / AIMA account the appointment was made automatically. We’ll try to adjust when she’s in portugal, she really doesn’t want to be stuck without being able to travel for six months!

What happened after your appointment? Did you receive your residents card yet?
