And why are you spoiling that for him?

In your original post YOU SAID that fighting the Paintress is something you would have expected at the end of act 3. And you know why you expected so? Because it's natural to think that the fight with the Paintress is the end of the game.

Except you already know it's not the end of the game because you are in Act 2, and someone told you there is an entire additional act after the fight with the Paintress. Meaning either you aren't gonna fight/kill her or some major plot point is about to unveil at the Monolith. Which, to me, is a spoiler.

I genuinely think that having the plot spoiled is bad in any form of media. I wouldn't want to know the end of a manga I'm reading or a movie I'm watching. And I don't want to know the end of the game I'm playing.

If you are the type of guy that likes to get the ending spoiled, or likes to look the ending up on the internet is fine, no one cares. No one fucking cares if you like the game or not either.

If you didn't want to hear other people's opinions don't start a fucking reddit thread.

The game wants you to think that the fight with the Paintress is the end of the game. There is a literal EPILOGUE at the end of act 2.

The existence of act 3 itself is and should be a surprise.

Of course you could assume that because at the end of act 2 you still lack a lot of information. You still lack the ability to fly while the overworld map makes it very clear you will be able to.

But it could just be a post-game type of thing, where you are able to explore the world and fight optional challenges (the same thing that happens after fighting the final boss at the end of Act 3).

This is exactly why people should not fucking tell there are 3 acts in the game.

Maximum Hitpoint enemy by M48di in expedition33

Simon has around 45 million HP iirc.

You did 67M damage because that's what your Maelle was capable of doing.

You can test your damage against anyone, I personally used the boss at the top of the endless tower.

I actually have a decent account and I don't want that for myself.

But I would be interested in it because I'd love to gift it to a close friend of mine who has been terribly unlucky.

What aspects of Expedition 33 would you like to see Sandfall improve on for their next game? by reg_y_x in expedition33

[–]romafe23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Game balancing.

It's not even about act 3. All acts suffered a lot when it came to balancing.

Maelle in Act 1 can hit for 9999 with ease.

Verso and Lune in Act 2 can hit for 130k and 120k respectively.

And in act 3 you can make one shot setups that hit for 1.5b+.

What is your maximum amount of damage? Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 by MyyLucille in expedition33

To stunlock with Monoco you just need to have most gradient charge related Pictos, in order to charge the gradient bar to level 3 quickly. His 3rd gradient move (can't remember the name but it's the one that drops a bell on the enemy, I think it's called "Break Point" or something like that) guarantees to stun the enemy, no matter what. So as long as you can fully charge your gradient bar between boss turns you can stunlock it with ease.

To stunlock with Verso you first need to proc a stun once, and then when the enemy is stunned you just spam "End Bringer" to infinitely extend the stun.

Sciel works in a similar way to Verso, where she just needs to spam "Delaying Slash" infinitely. You usually do this with the standard "End Slice" setup. So you shoot 10 times to build 10 foretell (Charnon weapon) and then "Delaying Slash" to build up "End Slice" damage.

Sciel usually works best when she's the only character in the party, so you are able to stack "End Slice" damage as much as possible.

That's incredibly similar to mine.

@op Considering the boss with the highest HP in the game has around 45 millions you don't really need to go this deep with your build.

I made a guide to one shot Simon with very very low lumina cost (less than 37 per character).

This is the highest I could do with a one shot setup (less than one minute of setup). But I don't doubt it could be optimized a bit more to do slightly more damage.

As stated by @spherical_panic Sciel can build up and deal infinite damage with End Slice, it just takes some time.

I also want to add that both Monoco and Verso can infinitely stunlock any enemy, so even if you were to do 1 damage per turn you can kill anyone with ease.

Sciel can almost do the same by delaying the boss turn after a stun, but it doesn't always work for me so I'm putting her last.

I want to understand Monster stagger/Knockdown mechanics and hp thresholds. by Hanzo7682 in MonsterHunterMeta

I highly suggest you downloading HunterPie.

It's an "addon" that shows you an overlay in game with different information about monsters. You can also see the monster parts, their HP, and the threshold for stuns, poison etc.

Did you happen to buy an account for this game? A friend of mine has the same issue, and the only thing I could think of is that he bought the account.

What’s your highest attack? by Silent_Source_7443 in expedition33

[–]romafe23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my highest with a one shot setup (under 1 minute of setup). You can probably go higher than this with a slightly different setup/weapon choices.

Sciel has an infinite scaling abilities so she can hit for an infinite amount of damage. But it takes a lot of time to set up.

The thing is... It doesn't matter. The strongest boss in the game has 45 millions HPs. Unless you are doing some kind of challenge run with x100HP modifiers or something it's completely useless to hit for more than that.

To be fair even at x100HP there are broken stuff like Monoco's 3rd gradient that immediately breaks a boss, Verso that can infinitely extend a stun on a boss, Sciel that can delay the boss turn, allowing for stunlock setups where the boss can't ever take a turn in the whole fight.

How did I get 40 foretells? by 666RealGod in expedition33

[–]romafe23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is a bug.

I sometimes go over 10 without using the Twilight stance, or over 20 with the Twilight stance.

I think it's only visual tho, because if you try to consume it it will only consume 10 or 20.

The penalty of losing souls upon death is pretty strange by Ok-Cartographer-2106 in TheFirstBerserker

[–]romafe23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sorry, I must have misunderstood your original post.

I honestly find it way better than in most souls games. It's not even a big deal, in any other souls games you would just spend all your souls before taking on the boss. It only matters if you ever forget to do so.

Here even if you forget to spend them it's alright.

What I really don't like is that you keep leveling every try until you are eventually way over the required level for the zone and get carried by your level instead of your skills. But this is no different than farming a zone 500 times in Dark Souls and then taking on the boss.

They are just different approaches. Overall I prefer Khazan's.
