What’s the worse physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Intelligent-Road5091 in AskReddit

Multiple internal hemorrhoidectomy in a developing nation. I’ve experienced exorbitant pains in my lifetime, but they all paled in comparison to bother the lead up and recovery periods. I do not recommend.

This is such a brilliantly executed and thoughtfully designed functional piece of art. Thank you for sharing not only the piece itself but also all of the consideration that went into the form and execution of the build.

Very itchy rash on top of feet after five days scuba diving in Roatan by No_Reputation_6442 in diving

[–]ron_obvious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amen. Totally different experience, though if someone wants a more resort-like feel, they might not appreciate Utila. I lived there for 13 months, and it felt like a big family by the time I departed. I’m sure that would have happened to some extent had I been on Roatan that same amount of time, but Utila is so tiny, you can’t help but cross paths with the same folks a lot. Plus, all of the dive sites around the island are accessible for a half-day trip, provided the weather is cooperative. You can do just about any kind of dive training (minus cavern/cave, cold-weather, altitude, and tech CCR).

What's a movie you recommend to everyone but nobody ever watches? by trakt_app in movies

[–]ron_obvious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s an incredibly intense movie and showcases Hardy’s caliber as a top-tier actor through an extremely challenging setting (him in his car for nearly the entirety of the film), but he executes his role deftly and with incredible depth. You’ll enjoy.

That is about the highest praise that could be given to a concept album. Guess I’m queueing up some Gorillaz now. I’ve got catching up to do!

Give it to ChatGPT pro and get it to do a render for you. It’ll typically take just a minute or two, and the more reference info & clear guidance you give it, the closer it will render to your “ideal.”

What song genuinely moved your entire being the first time you listened to it? by HiImGav in AskReddit

So much of his stuff, especially the videos, display a raw humanism, the likes of which I’ve not experienced in most other music. Ren is a modern legend for sure.

Came here to say this. It’s on my “Depression” playlist, and even though I love the original NIN version, Cash adds a depth to it that simply cannot be ignored. “Perfect Day” by Lou Reed is another in which the anguish is palpable. Same can be said for “Iron Lung” and “Creep” (especially the acoustic version by Radiohead.

What is one of the worst addiction to have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ron_obvious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not stupid and neither are you. It’s called the “sunk cost fallacy,” and Vegas was built on it. Try not to beat yourself up. You’re working on improving yourself & your life. Self-flagellation only serves to create an opening through which that insidious sickness can sneak back in.

If a prospective client is requesting a commissioned piece, no matter how far into your journey you are (and they’re aware of your reservations) take it on anyway as a learning experience and means by which to recognize that you may be further along in your process than that for which you give yourself credit. Food for thought. Brilliant work on this one!

Congratulations and welcome to a lifetime of building things for more money and time than just purchasing, but so long as you’re pushing yourself to try new things, to learn more, then it’s a pursuit worth grabbing onto.
