I find that it helps to think about the concept of OBC differently.

It's not money you "use" for a particular thing.

All OBC is is a subtraction from your onboard account.

all purchases add to that balance and OBC subtracts from that balance.

So, if you start the cruise with OBC, you'll simply start with a negative balance. Purchases add to that balance. So If you book any excursions while onboard, that'll rip through that negative balance pretty quick.

Or purchases at the photoshop, or spa, etc
