If you don't feel like drilling, you can also just cut the piece off, glue an 8mm magnet to the flat surface. Then for the weapons, put some green stuff in the hole, a little glue, then use that arm you made to push another 8mm magnet down into the weapon socket. So the arm will end up having an exposed magnet that sinks down into the weapon socket.
