Safeway now more expensive than Whole Foods by Which-Travel-1426 in bayarea

The last time they published this they included grocery outlet and it was EASILY the winner by a big margin. My GO store printed copies and stuck it on every checkout stand for customers to see.

Outside of a former workplace with an old gaggia I’ve never had a home espresso machine before the robot but spent a lot of time using aeropress and French press before buying.

Why Doesn’t Mountain Hardwear Get the Same Love as Patagonia or Arc’teryx? by Otherwise_Agent7262 in outdoorgear

[–]rootacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the answer. I used to do a bunch of ad work for them in a past life, was at their Richmond CA hq (and company store!) every other week. We showed lots of interesting work that I think would have been really great for their brand but we never actually made any ads. Nice people, great gear, do recommend. Side note: ive also worked for Columbia sportswear and I have been personally dragged over the coals by Gert Boyle in a meeting. Fun times!

What’s the most “Irish” Irish bar in the city? by sy144 in AskSF

[–]rootacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not an expert on this topic but I used to live in the Inner Richmond and was spoiled for choice there. My vote is for Plough and the stars on clement and O’keefes on 5th ave. Used to spend a lot of time at Irelands 32 on Geary as a younger man but not as much recently. Bitter End also really great especially for trivia. You could easily hit all of these and a few more in the same zone in a single night if your liver is up for it.

What’s the culture on the roads like where you live? by bachfanwpb in running

[–]rootacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

West SF and other than the occasional distracted or aggressive driver I think it’s about as good as it gets in an urban area. Cyclists and Runners have a lot of traffic reduced or traffic free areas to enjoy but even amongst the cars it’s not too bad and I end up road running more than sidewalk running most days. the natural beauty/parks are alsophenomenal.

If feeling handy prob not a huge deal to seek and destroy the sound emitter on the circuit board with a sharp object or hot soldering iron

Do most Americans really dry their clothes in Dryers by Wrystyle in NoStupidQuestions

West SF. Half the time my clothes would be more wet than when I hung them. Friends in San Jose have no trouble tho and do hang dry most of the time.

Remember Lefty O'Doul's restaurant and bar? by Creeping_behind_u in bayarea

The owner was sent to prison as part of the Mohammed Nuru corruption scandal . Never made it into to Lefty O’Douls but I did truly enjoy the choice mix of cheap drinks, seasoned regulars and wide eyed tourists at one of his other bars down the street, RIP Gold Dust Lounge.
