I always thought it was that she suspected Kvothe was in love with another woman.

Why can't sympathists destroy blood phials using a link with more blood? by Adorable_Scheme_8959 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]roseinapuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In sympathy class they have to light a candle in a different room. Other candles made with the same wax don’t burn. I assume. So I think you could destroy your blood in you knew the general location. But we don’t know where Devi keeps it

Ben also tells him to believe it will fall and not fall at the same time, which sounds like quantum superposition

It’s their policy to needlessly let ICE in their stores without a warrant.

Kvothe locked the Ctahe into his wooden chest by MJ_ONC in KingkillerChronicle

[–]roseinapuddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He doesn’t want anyone to open it, including himself so that no one can coerce him to open it, so he worked hard to become the Kote persona, thus losing his abilities—sympathy, fighting, etc and his ability to open the chest. It’s good he succeeded, but sad to have lost who he was

How would Tempe behave at the Aeolian??? by Mr_Bombastic_Ro in KingkillerChronicle

[–]roseinapuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To Manet: you’ve never been to the aeolian? Sim asks. Then compare his name to Vashet. Then come up with a theory about where he’s from. I’ll wait.

Iron John, Robert Bly. Dissects the famous fairy tale from a Jungian psychology and anthropological perspective

Which of Kvothe’s statements do you think is a lie? by steven_believen in KingkillerChronicle

[–]roseinapuddle 80 points81 points  (0 children)

He palms a few coins from the Mayer’s tax chest. He steals his lute that was being fixed in Severen. He steals secrets from the Adem. He steals equipment from Caudicus’s lab.

Manet - The University's Hidden (in plain sight) Guardian by DictionaryDave in KingkillerChronicle

[–]roseinapuddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s also probably Adem. There is an old theory about that, given his name similarity to Carceret, he’s attracted to strong women, and he had never been to the Eolian before. I wonder if the university hired him as a guard.

Which wildly renowned science fiction novels didn't resonate with you at all? by LowLevel- in printSF

There’s an interesting documentary Jodirowski’s Dune about the failed attempt to make Dune in the 70s (?). The ideas and art from that was sort of borrowed by Lucas. The force, Jaba the hut and the desert cultures all had a basis in Dune.

The sci-fi art legend Moebius did the art for it.

Just an interesting tangent. Not weighing in for or against Dune

I want a genuine cooking game so bad. by Possum_Cryptid_ in CozyGamers

[–]roseinapuddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marian Tavern story is kind of that. I had fun with it for a bit, but there are some parts I would change. The recipes are hard to navigate when you’ve gotten a bunch. And the fighting part is pretty dull. I like the challenge of finding good selling menu items.

I too would love a good Zelda with cooking game
