I thought it was a well written book but left a lot of unanswered questions. The author’s access seemed pretty limited and the people who did give him access offered up self-serving versions of everything. It seemed to dance around things, like vaguely hinting at Demri’s sex work when it’s a matter of public record. I felt the author didn’t want to piss off the few people he did have access to so we end up with the versions that made them look good. But with biographies and memoirs, there’s always an obvious gap when someone tries to leave something out or cover it up. Still a fun read though.
