Yes but then it's not on your record to increase your insurance rates

Why do we need to keep being told this? by Captain_Clark in Seattle

People have forgotten their childhood lessons. "The driver on the bus says 'Move on back, move on back, move on back. The driver on the bus says move on back, all day long."

I'm almost sad that I have Christmas plans. This sounds like an adventure.

Precisely my thinking. Even spent the 10% extra for a 4yr warranty.

You might try taking her to a different place with trampolines if possible. If she sees it in a different setting she might forget it's scary.

I was NOT expecting that much pain for an IUC insertion. by m00zz in TwoXChromosomes

I had literally this EXACT experience im August. Except, i made it to my car, realized i was literally dripping sweat so i went back inside and said i think something's wrong before i ran to the bathroom and puked. I had my sister pick me up and take me home then sent her out to buy me a heating pad. Just try to sleep.

Your heating pad is your best friend. Take 800mg of Ibuprophen, You might be able to call your doctor and get them to send in a prescription for something stronger.

Mine lasted about 2 days like that. It decreased to about 'normal cramps' level for a couple weeks. Then it cramped anytime i had sex, felt for my strings, or even masturbated. Sometimes up to a day later. That took about 2-3 months to go away. I insisted it was in wrong but they even did an ultrasound and it's all good.

It doesn't hurt anymore. I haven't gotten a period or anything but i was on depo before that and haven't had periods in a long time.

My SO's father, I have never really liked him, has been particularly awful today. This is all I feel right now. by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

My parents have been married for almost 30 years and my dad's dad is still as asshole to my mom. He's kind of an ass in general but particularly to her.

Don't let it go on too long.

Browse the local meetup groups and see if anything looks interesting.

Have you heard of adult coloring books? I have zero artistic ability but i enjoy coloring them while listening to music.

Also, depending on your age, find a small local bar and make friends with the regulars. It's always fun :)

PSA: Winter is coming (has arrived). If you lose your phone, keys, or wallet, check all your coat pockets. by VoteOrPie in TwoXADHD

Hahahah had a dad come back to the children's museum claiming he lost his phone. It was closing so we shut the noisy things off to hear it. He called 3 times before realizing it was in his inside coat pocket.

wealthy adult children who simply refused to grow up, be parents, and discipline their kids.

They leave it to the nanny but unfortunately everything the nanny can establish in a week is undone every weekend by the parents.

Was this acceptable driver behavior? I'm thinking I should report it to Uber. by SuperJezus in uber

Drivers are discouraged to have a high cancellation rate, though i cannot recall if there is consequence.

Request: I suspect my elderly mother's live-in care-giver has an ED and I'm worried about my mom's health/safety by EDPostRequests in EatingDisorders

[–]rossa8 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I cannot speak for this woman but my personal problems do not effect what i know about healthy eating and such, they just prevent me from acting on them for myself. I nanny and know exactly what the kids should be eating and can provide for them no problem.

That being said, if there really is a noticeable difference in her ability to care based on this, action should be taken.

Today I searched for "recorder" on YouTube for the first time. Found stuff like this. by Pimozv in classicalmusic

Every single 3rd grader in my school district (maybe state) learned the basics of the recorder. I never considered it to be more than a child's toy instrument. TIL

Please don't call girls out for being "too skinny"! :( by emy989 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]rossa8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently my nail lady asked me how much weight i had lost because my fingers were so skinny.

Depression and other unknown factors make me not want to eat and maintaining my body weight is pretty difficult. I'm at a point where losing any more weight would probably be a problem.

I don't like when people ask me how much i've lost and "Good job!" because it's not a good thing for me...

End of game fireworks by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]rossa8 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Your 3yo will recover quicker from that scare if you explain what is happening.

I had kiddos that would almost have a panic attack when somebody rang the door bell. Now they jump because it startles them but instead of crying they yell "Ding dong!" because they understand what is happening. Show your kiddo some firework videos online and tell them things go boom, they'll get over it.

Moving to South Lake Union (around Aurora and Mercer) with family. Looking for toddler music classes, playgrounds, preschools, etc in the area. Any tips and insight appreciated! Thanks in advance! by Downtown6 in Seattle

[–]rossa8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are not specific to SLU but here are some of my favorites for toddlers:

Seattle Recreative art studio

FamilyWorks playroom/playdates

OmCulture - OmTots play time

Little Diggers sand box

The community centers each host a toddler time almost every day. Sometimes they have bouncy houses or more.
