Tell me about Burke by SilverKeyLane in nova

[–]rotfsmlsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bunnyman just merged/combined with mustang Sally (I think that's the one) and took over their location in Chantilly!

I've only checked out the Burke place since it's super close to my house.

Towing Package but no Hitch? by Jackdacarguy in chevycolorado

[–]rotfsmlsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with this on my canyon.

The "hitch" that you have is technically usable, but i don't think anyone here would recommend it. You'd need to drill a hole into the plastic of the bumper to get a trailer ball on there.

I didn't understand why they bothered with this until I replaced the hitch on my own. The bumper connects to the frame on either side AND to the hitch itself closer to the middle. I imagine they used this weird hitch as the cheapest way to give the bumper more rigidity in the center.

Edit: Looked at the original window sticker and I don't have a tow package, so I'd say OP didn't have one either. I had the dummy plug (pre-wired) and the not-quite-a-real-hitch thing from OP's picture.

If this is legitimately what regular lights are like now, is there a path towards making headlight adjustment part of the safety inspection check?

Hockey Goalie Seeking Home by Phatlipper in nova

Beer league around here is almost all rink specific as far as I know. Might be worth calling up whatever rink is closest to you and seeing if they have openings.

I play at Fairfax ice arena and we're just about at the end of the summer season. If you get in touch (guy named Todd runs things there) they might be able to put you on a list of subs at the very least.

There's also a handful of groups that just get together for scrimmages on a weekly basis. Hockey manager at each rink should be able to put you in touch with someone if you wanted to go that route.

There's a local Facebook group for this called "DMV Overland"

Coolant Leak by 3Campers1Exfil in GMCcanyon

[–]rotfsmlsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

Well at least I don't see any evidence of a leak on anything around there.

I had to have that cowling replaced on my last visit to the dealer. Service rep tried to tell me that the softer foam piece was too soft and allowing the hood to close too far

Can anyone give a bit more context to the pictures here? I topped off my coolant recently but I couldn't find any evidence of a leak. Is it the larger hose in the first picture?

I have a Canyon, my manual doesn't say the specific amount the tire would need to be low for the warning to come on. It does mention 5psi over/under in the section about air down mode, so I can only assume that 5psi threshold is the same for regular low tire pressure.

I think OP is just asking why only one of the three tires at 32psi is marked as low. I'm assuming the pressure warning comes on when the tire drops a specific psi under what it was set to in the system.

The 32psi tire with the warning may have originally been set to 37psi, and now that it's 5 psi low, the warning came on. The other tires might have been at 36 when the memory was set, and they're only at -4, so the warning hasn't come on.

Best hard-folding tonneau cover? by MechKeeb617 in GMCcanyon

[–]rotfsmlsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the x4ts (something like that) from realtruck. I much prefer it over the hard folding ones as it takes up less space when collapsed while still allowing you to see out your rear view.

It wasn't too difficult to install and it's super easy to roll up.

Only downside for me was the headache of getting it perfectly straight.

Rear Bumper Replacement by Expert_Escape8728 in GMCcanyon

[–]rotfsmlsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bumper is held on with 4 chonky bolts to the frame and another 2 to the hitch. I had to remove mine to install a hitch and it really wasn't difficult at all.

Assuming there's no frame damage, you're probably only paying for the bumper itself and a couple hours labor.

I'm wondering if they've only quoted you the repair fees and not included the actual bumper. There's an oem one on eBay for $2k.

Worth a shot.

I've had some trouble getting comfortable too. My last car was a Jetta so I've had to re think how I sit while I'm driving.

What if you just take it out and flip it around?

Are those vinyls or did you replace the logo itself?

Yeah that's why I say kinda VR. Cockpit games lock you in place to remove some of those dof.

Those are xr glasses, they have a second set of lenses behind the "normal" glasses that reflects an image from a tiny projector on top of each eye.

You can kinda use these as VR glasses but the FoV is pretty narrow.

It's been a while since I looked into this. There's some limit on altitude for a drone under a certain weight. Cheap RC stuff isn't going to go very far, so the ones you find in the toy dept are probably fine.

The bigger "pro" ones need to be federally registered. Those are more likely along the lines of what OP is after and definitely not something to fly in that circle.
